That was a hit piece, pure and simple.

Here's a different point-of-view:

Scott Conroy Sets the Record Straight on the Media’s Latest Palin Gossip

As you may have heard through some of our pathetic news media outlets (like the one Governor Palin called out just a few weeks ago), there’s been some nasty gossip out there surrounding the personal lives of the Palin family.  We haven’t remarked on it here because we have always felt that Governor Palin’s personal life should never be up for speculation (aside from what she shares).  It holds no significance to her record as a reformer or to her strong commonsense positions she has championed for these last few years.

These careless members of the news media decided to run with it out of sheer sensationalism without waiting for facts and using known Palin-deranged sources to reference it.  As a result, there’s been some expected dissing of the Palins including their son, Track.

To that, I’d simply remind those that Track Palin went overseas to give all he had to protect people and their opinions in this great country, even the ones who go out of their way to embellish details meant to slander his entire family.  Of course, that fact alone makes him the better man.  As Governor Palin has said, "what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger," and we know that just like similar attacks of the past hurled at the Palins, this one too is only meant to distract and will only strengthen them for truly significant fights down the road for our country.

As for the details, Scott Conroy has a piece up at Real Clear Politics that sets the record straight on the gossip in question which is sure to send all liberals into a rage:

[W]ith The Washington Post, “Good Morning America,” the New York Times and dozens of other media outlets all filing reports on the incident over the last few days, it’s clear that there’s a high level of interest in the events that transpired on that regrettable night in Anchorage.

[...]

According to previously published eyewitness reports, the fracas began when Track Palin, the former governor’s adult son, confronted a former boyfriend of his 20-year-old sister, Willow.

But according to the Palin family’s version of events, the instigator was actually the former boyfriend.

The initial tussle occurred, the source said, after the young man in question “tried to get in” to the Hummer limousine after he’d engaged in some unspecified “questionable behavior.”

Track Palin soon found himself struggling to fend off four men who had “piled on him,” according to the source.

Todd Palin then inserted himself into the brawl, which left the former “First Dude” of Alaska bleeding.

Next, it was Sarah Palin’s turn to leave her own mark on the most talked about rumble in Anchorage since the 1964 earthquake.

On the previous night, she had been in Houston to speak at a fundraiser benefiting the Mighty Oaks Warrior Foundation, which helps wounded veterans. That event apparently was fresh on Palin’s mind when she engaged in the tumult on Saturday night.

According to the source, as her husband and son were trading blows with their adversaries, Palin was yelling (in reference to her son), “Don’t you know who he is? He’s a vet!”

This rendition of her words differs slightly but significantly from a previous report, which had Palin shouting, “Don’t you know who I am?”

Over the years, Sarah Palin has spoken frequently about her son’s U.S. Army service in the Iraq War, and Track currently serves as a counselor, working with veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

“From my understanding, she was in full ‘mama grizzly’ mode defending the kids,” the source said of Sarah Palin’s mindset.

According to the source, Track Palin left the fight nursing four cracked ribs, while his father was bloodied up.

At some point, Bristol Palin became involved in the free-for-all, but the Palin source took issue with a report suggesting she had brandished a “mean right hook,” noting that the eldest Palin daughter is left-handed.

[...]

In an unrelated episode, a 25-year-old man was arrested last Sunday on charges of stalking Bristol Palin after allegedly sending her approximately 1,000 Facebook messages and then appearing in her driveway — an incident the Palin source described as “scary.”

Read the whole thing here.

Yep, I don’t mind agreeing to disagree.

There is more than one approach to public service and elected office.

I personally believe, for example, that there are more than enough think tanks and accountability outfits, so creating another one as a cover for becoming serious about policy would be a silly effort. So that’s why I don’t think Palin decided to transform herself into another “serious political pundit.” You might say, for example, that Newt Gingrich has gone that route with his organizations.

I have, however, come to believe that Breitbart was absolutely right when he said that politics is downstream of culture. For example, see:

1. Commander in Chief TV show in 2007/08 with Geena Davis as the president at time when Hollywood and DC and the nation assumed that Hillary would be the next president. So Hollywood did its Democrat duty and set the cultural stage for a woman president,

2. Madame Secretary TV show in 2014 with Tea Leoni as the Secretary of State coming in and clashing with the male president and being Ms. Heroic Leader because Hollywood and DC and the nation assume that Hillary Clinton will be the next president. So Hollywood is again doing its Democrat duty to set the cultural stage that Tea’s/Hillary’s time as Secretary of State makes her a great candidate for president.

Palin has chosen to use every avenue of social and new media, Facebook, twitter, reality TV, and now Tapp TV, to engage in both practical, every day issues and international and national issues.

I don’t know if she will run for national office.

But just because she hasn’t followed the staid, predictable, “legitimate,” consultant-guided path does not disqualify her.

Time will tell.

Good people can certainly disagree.

I just hope they disagree with all the facts on the table.

“Rick Perry probably isn’t getting stuck with the total legal bill for the Texas fiasco.”

“Probably” means you don’t have a clue.

“all of which were defeated in court, but were costing the Palins over half a million”

The royalties from her first book covered that and then she made about $12 mil a year or so after leaving office. She could easily have paid her attorney’s fees. Those are hard facts. discernment has nothing to do with it.

What are you so upset about? Palin is rich and happy. My guess is that you are upset because you have discerned if I can use that word that she will never again seek office.

You know much more about Palin’s past than I do. I never heard her name before McCain asked her to be his VP. I wish she had run for Alaska senator.

Then why are we even discussing this since no one knows “sh** from Shinola” as to what happened?

“Do. some. research. on. the. evil. nasty. that. is. Karl. Rove.”

I didn’t say Sarah Palin was like Karl Rove I said she is a political operative like Karl Rove.

I’m now concerned that you are going to have a stroke over all this as your posts are starting to froth at the mouth. So have a great day and I hope Sarah Palin runs for President. LOL!

“Palin helped create and led a rebuilding of conservatism in America, Rick Perry hasn’t”

Read Rick Perry’s book “Fed Up” and then get back to me or not. LOL!

Thanks Again Publius!

Ping to Sarah's Robust List!

This title and Article is pretty misleading, I read Sarah's Facebook and she basically says how Bristol stands up and protects everyone when it's called for. She doesn't mention the alleged brawl or any specifics.

This is Just New York Daily News being it's trashy self.

How can she be taken serious when the Dems have such class acts as the Clintons, the Obamas and the Reids.

Not to mention the Kennedy clan.

“Somehow she just can’t climb above the white trash antics of her older offspring and who they associate with... I do not believe her image as a serious stateswoman will ever recover.”

I understand what you mean, yet, it is ultimately canard that defies rational analysis.

Plenty of children of those deigned serious statesmen have done much much worse.

There is a double standard vis a vis Palin and a vendetta.

You evidently have no argument to make in trying to promote the Dewhurst backing Perry as having any leadership in the conservative movement that Palin has been leading and inspiring since 2008.

“And I would say that all of the Palin family reality TV cashing in has taken her image further in that direction, rather than countering the damage from Fey.

Had Palin instead simply held on to finish her one term as guv and then taken some sort of adjunct think-tank position on international energy policy, or something similar, she’d be a viable presidential candidate today.”

I agree, yet feel the exact opposite about the value.

Palin earns her money working to provide product. It’s honest work.

On the other hand, most “respectable” politicians get rich in manners that are legal, but not necessarily honorable.

Palin could have become a well paid lobbyist or partaken in another form of political whoring to make money, as every other politician does.

That is exactly what you stated would make her presidential timber.

Sadly you are more right than wrong, and working for a living is seen as somehow lower than playing the Washington money game.

It is her individualism and independence from this DC system that causes her to be vilified and ostracized, not anything having to do with lack of sophistication or other things they use to demean her.

"Probably" means I obviously know more about this than you do, and you are sounding an awfully lot like a PDS troll.

Palin announced her resignation on 07/03/2009, effective 07/26/2009.

"Going Rogue" was published on 11/07/2009, after Palin was forced out of office by the costs of the bogus ethics charges.

Writing process

The book deal was announced in May 2009 when Palin was still Governor of Alaska, with Palin stating that she wanted the public to hear her true story, "unrestrained and unfiltered".[3] She reportedly received an advance of $1.25 million[4] from the publisher, Harper Collins, with two projected additional payouts of between $2.5 million and $5 million each.[5]

Palin announced that although she would have a ghostwriter to help, she would be doing a lot of the writing herself, employing her journalism skills and the personal diaries and notes that she had kept throughout her life.[3] Nonetheless, critics questioned whether Palin could write a book.[6]

Responding to concerns that writing and promoting the book would interfere with her duties as governor, Palin stated she would only work on the book after hours and would promote the book "schedule permitting".[3] The Alaska law department issued a legal opinion which okayed the project, stating: "A book publication project is compatible with your position as governor so long as it does not interfere with your official duties."[3]

Conservative journalist and author Lynn Vincent worked on the book with Palin for several weeks shortly after she resigned the governorship in the summer of 2009. Palin then met with HarperCollins editors for intensive editing sessions in New York City. HarperCollins publisher Jonathan Burnham said that Palin had been "unbelievably conscientious and hands-on at every stage", adding that the book was "her words, her life ... in full and fascinating detail."[7] HarperCollins had planned publication for Spring 2010, but later moved the date to November 17, 2009, as the book was completed earlier than expected.[7] The publisher attributed the speed with which the memoir was written to Palin devoting full-time to the writing process after she left office.[8] A paperback version of the book, with new material, released on August 24, 2010.[9] Palin released a second book, America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag, on November 23, 2010.[10]

But Palin could not have had her book published until ‘after’ her term was over, under the bogus lawfare assault she was enduring. By that time, she would have been at least two million in debt, and the way the media was biased in headlining that mountain of “ethics violations” (and vastly underreporting when she was cleared), she was already on the receiving end of a totally false meme that she was a very “corrupt” politician. Would her book have sold anywhere near the number of copies after all that? Enough to cover all those legal fees? Questionable.

As for Rick Perry, I was already wary of him due to his absolute obsessiveness over the Trans-Texas Corridor. But what really got to me about him was during the 2006 race, I believe. During the election, he was getting some strong criticism over his weakness on securing the border, so he put in place cameras along the border to convince everyone he was getting tough on the issue. Only a week or so after he won the election, the cameras were turned off. And never mentioned again. Perry is in some ways better than the Christie/Jeb Bush/Romney crowd, but he’s mostly all talk, and has always seemed more hackishly devoted to his rich donors (Perry the homebuilder, Butts the grocery magnate, etc.) than to the Texas voters. I really don’t trust him.

As a Republican, Rick Perry would be a slightly better choice than Chris Christie or Jeb Bush. However, Rick Perry would still be a Democrat if being a Democrat still worked more easily in a Texas statewide election.

Sarah Palin has never been a Democrat.

Bump to your post!

We’ve ALL seen the drunken Chelsea Clinton gifs. And, yes, Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter was a wild child....especially for her time!

Bristol has owned up to her responsibilities in life...unlike many her age.
