Is FreeRepublic Pro Harry Reid?
Vanity | 9/17/2014 | Vanity

Posted on 09/17/2014 4:36:52 PM PDT by Kansas58

A very disturbing number of Freepers are openly advocating, on Free Republic threads, for the defeat of Senator Pat Roberts and other good Conservative Republicans. Greg Orman, in Kansas, is a pro abortion, anti gun, tax and spend Liberal Democrat who has given tens of thousands of dollars to Obama and Pelosi and the Democrat Party and Harry Reid. I am called an "idiot" for supporting Roberts. However, I think that those on Free Republic who support Harry Reid and Greg Orman should be ZOTTED, kicked off the site. I have had enough of there hate filled, vindictive, misguided trash.

There can no longer be any doubt as to Boehner's intentions when he arranges passage of a funding resolution covering only 9/30/14 to 12/11/14, includes Planned Barrenhood funding and Obamacare funding and obviously plans a lame duck session in which defeated/retiring legislators will be free to enact Amnesty and Lord knows what other abominations to serve the US Chamber of Crony Socialism, Wall Street and K Street.

God bless you and yours!

What I have done is note that when challenged to defend the man you say you like you could not do so.

Correct. Hell, I cannot even defend Ted Cruz.... he's sponsoring a very dangerous bill to strip people of citizenship upon conviction.. heck, ACCUSATION... of certain crimes. That sort of bill will be perverted to create UnPersons, when the liberals get their hands on it.

So, even Ted Cruz is imperfect. No politician is perfect. I must look at the pros and cons of each.

I feel that Perry has more positives than negatives, the absurd statement about CrustyPantSuit being one of the negatives.

OK, that may be a straw man in regards to Romney, but it’s applicable to the rest of this thread which is about voting for lesser evils. We know all candidates are going to fall short of Jesus. If we were voting for Jesus, it would be a very easy decision, but we’re not. At what point can I vote for a sinner without conforming to the world and aiding evil?????

No. Killing millions of babies is not negotiable for me. I don’t want to kill babies, but there was no option (in the 2012 general election) that could produce a nationwide abortion ban. Abortion is just one sin—a very serious one to be sure, but there are many others. How much sin disqualifies a candidate? What if a candidate wants to ban abortion but isn’t willing to pass laws making it murder? Does that disqualify them?

If one is absolutely pure on abortion, i.e. abortion is murder; therefore, we need laws and candidates willing to punish abortion like murder, we will probably never vote again. Even if we DID have a candidate like that, there is zero chance that that candidate would win.

I’ll grant that situations like Romney are really stretching the lesser of two evils argument, but some here will not vote for any perceived RINO. That’s their right, and I respect that. I’m simply saying that can result in something even worse. In the case of abortion, we might end up with a ghoul like President Obama who not only endorses and promotes abortion but wants to use our tax money to pay for it.

Laz: “I can no longer agree to disagree. Therefore, you will need to adopt my position immediately. Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter!”

I like that! Funny!

Crusty pant suit? lol!

Yeah, praising the beast was a negative. As were all the other things I mentioned. Whatever positives there may be, I just can't see electing a pro-ILLEGAL alien anyone to the presidency, certainly not a Republican known for pretending to be conservative.

I liked the “opposing this equals supporting it” gambit.

Almost as good as "increased snowfall means global warming".

I do share your concern about Perry and Amnesty. I do, however, believe he might be brought back to sanity. Generally he trends pretty conservative.

IMO, you're stuck in the mental trap that assures continued total surrender and defeat.

That chance is less than zero unless conservatives like you support him instead of settling for GOP-E. You do know who you're debating with, don't you? The man is the most pro-life person I've ever seen on this website.

Boy, you said it! “Opposing this means supporting that.”

That exact thinking is truly epidemic. It’s everywhere and some of us have failed to recognize it. It’s on the Left and seeping into the heads of the fearful and desperate.

“In the name of freedom we’re losing freedom.”

I want to ping you to the story on that. Chilling.

I don't know the answers to all of your questions ut I o know about the relationship between Senator Roberts and the Sebelius family and it is actually somewhat innocent. Roberts got his start in politics working as a staff aide to Kansas REPUBLICAN Congressman Keith Sebelius who was Kathleen Sebelius's father-in-law. Kathleen Gilligan Sebelius is a lifelong Democrat whose father John Gilligan was Ohio's Demonrat governor from 1971 to 1975. He enacted Ohio's first state income tax. IIRC, Roberts succeeded Keith Sebelius as a Congressman and was later elected to the Senate.

I'll take a stab at the other questions. Roberts via the Keith Sebelius connection, was likely socially friendly with Kathleen Sebelius and may well have voted for her confirmation as HHS Secretary. He certainly would have known she was close to Killer Tiller (a nationally known scandal) and he should have politely declined to vote for her confirmation as HHS Secretary. I do suspect that Roberts is solidly pro-life whenever the actual issue arises but that he may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer. He seems well worth supporting against Orman.

God bless you and yours!

Yesterday, Speaker “Blank Check” Boehner approved the spending of $ 500,000,000 of US Taxpayer Dollars to “train” 5,000 Syrian Muslim Rebels in Saudi Arabia for one year.

Here are a few discussion points that were NOT mentioned by Boehner:

* Each Syrian Muslim Rebel will cost $ 100,000 to train.

* 5,000 Syrian Muslim Rebels will be removed from the battlefields in Syria to a training site in Saudi Arabia for one year.

* The removal of 5,000 Syrian Muslim Rebels will leave their families with reduced protection from attack by Syrian Army troops, for one year.

* The removal of 5,000 Syrian Muslim Rebels will leave their families with NO protection from attack by ISIS troops, for one year.

* The removal of 5,000 Syrian Muslim Rebels from the battlefields of Syria will help both the Syrian and ISIS troops to more easily take over areas controlled by the Syrian Muslim Rebels.

BTW, before the US Senate approved Boehner’s Bailout Bill today did any US Senator mention that removing 5,000 Syrian Muslim Rebels from the battlefields of Syria, was in effect, “Giving Aid and comfort to the ENEMY” for the period of one year?
