Anybody else Vape???
djf

After having been a smoker for just about 40 years, I made the plunge.

I was very surprised - it pretty much totally eliminated the urge to smoke! Well, except for the hand thingy... but it took away the urge!

It's been ten days so far. I have a nearby pack of smokes sittin around if need be.

Curious about others situations and experiences.

Congrats! I’m still smoking but not as much. Using Blu part time.

Well, I never thought I could do it, but today it has been NINE MONTHS since I had a smoke! (well, except for an Ashton Cabinet-—I couldn’t resist!)

My goal is I MIGHT have a cigarette on the one year anniversary!

I do feel quite a bit better.

To all those who smoke and are willing to try vaping, I cannot recommend it enough!

Find a shop and pick up an Ego cTwist battery (or 2), an Aspire tank (with a pack of replacement coils) and a bottle of juice at 24mg of nicotine (more than is needed, but the transition from cigarettes takes better, IMO). Sample the flavors. The batteries are about $25 each, the tank is about $10, the pack of coils about $13. Juice depends, but a 10ml bottle is about $10 and a 30ml is about $22 in my area (Eastern WA). Sample the flavors until you find one you like. Oh yeah, you will also need the usb charging cord, roughly $7.

Don’t buy the starter kit. The batteries are under powered and you will find that they simply don’t produce enough. And avoid the wick style tanks/coils. They gum up and lose effectiveness quickly.

I guess I picked a bad time to stop sniffing Glue. LOL

My Mother smoked like a Chimney and my Father Drank like a Fish. My Older Brother and I don’t do either, never have.

Buy me a second Beer and you’re wasting your Money, although I like a nice Margarita once in a while.

My only Vice is Politics. Never understood the attraction of letting a substance control you even though I grew up in a House that was ruled by those two Vices.

Good luck to all of you who gave it up. I can’t imagine it.

Wifey quit fags 19 months ago

46

She used to smoke pack a day of Slimes and later Marlboro lights

She started vaping at 24 mg Saffire tobacco blend

Now she smokes 6 mg same flavor

I’m sure plenty here will shite on this parade

There is always Freepers who poopoo anything

But my wife coughs 99% less and more lung capacity

But she still gets her nicotine fix

And down South where we are she doesn’t get hassled for taking a few puffs with her martini or after dinner

One of the few joints to ban vaping is a bar we frequent where folks were using hash oil instead of nicotine oil.

Well, I waited till I was 60. Wish this whole thing had come out ten or fifteen years ago!

I am in a sense lucky - I didn’t start driving until I was 40 years old. I mean I knew how to drive, I just never had a car.

So I biked it. I biked ALOT! Because of that, I’m still in pretty good health.

Good luck to you and your wife!

OK Fellow FReepers!

Today it is TWO YEARS since my last smoke!
Two years!

I never woulda thought I could ever do it. Shows the power of nicotine, I guess...

Anyways in recognition of this, I will today DONATE to FReerepublic the sum of...

$100.00

That’s all for now!

BTW, if you do smoke, I would highly recommend vaping. If at first it doesn’t seem to work, you might want to adjust it before you go back to smoking!

When I quit 10 years ago they had something similar. A prescription nicotine inhaler. I used that. Been smoke free for 10 years.

Of course anything that is beneficial the feds want to ban.

The end of Sept they are banning Kartom in all 50 states.

I'm not criticizing vaping. I would have used it when I stopped if it was available. If you are going to have any kind of sine surgery surgery check with your doctor. The nicotine causes major failure in fusions.

Vape: For pathetic morons who think it makes them look cool but can’t live without nicotine. Still weak minded dolts living with chemical dependence.

My wife went off a two-pack a day cigarette habit three years ago when she started vaping. Hasn't had a cigarette for three years now.

And, where she used to go outside to smoke her cigarettes .. and wouldn't smoke in my car .. she vapes both in the house and in my car. To me, the vapor smells like fresh cotton candy. I have no complaints .. and I have never smoked at all.

Oh, and she doesn’t use any flavored liquid ... it’s a Marlboro-clone liquid. The liquid itself, when I get it on my hands, tastes vile, but once it runs through the vaporizer, the exhale vapor smells like fresh cotton candy. I guess it’s the glycerin or whatever the base is for the liquid.

I was able to get my dad to vape and totally quit tobacco for a couple of months, but he’s gone back to tobacco and is now coughing himself to death.

Some of the cheaper Aspire tanks and coils work very well and are inexpensive.

I got a e-cig for my 75 birthday. About 6 months later I realized I wasn't smoking cigarettes. After several months I didn't "play" with the e-cig.

About once a month I go to a casino. I smoke there because it goes with the atmosphere...if I have to breathe smoke, might as well be my own! LOL!

When I come home I put the unsmoked cigs in the freezer until I go back. I am never tempted to smoke.

I always said I would never quit smoking because I enjoyed it.

I can't brag about quitting because I put forth no effort! I have no desire to go back to it and now wish it had been sooner.

I only smoked 60 years...starting in HS.
