For us single engine pilots, this is a problem....these cats got seven more to limp them home to Barksdale AFB.

I shot this with my phone on the way home this PM. Tough day at the office;-)

“It appears that we ingested a heron in the outboard starboard...”

How do you know?

“Feathers and BBQ smell!”

Dumping gas?

Engine out of trim?

Throttle at idle to practice engine out approach?

Engine out?

Could be any number of things.

Oh, isn’t that a tanker, meaning it has four engines, not eight.

I obviously missed the /sarc in your post. A jet engine will not produce a contrail two thousand feet off the deck, in 95 degree temps, and if one is producing contrails, the other seven...just...might....do the same.

I use tinfoil for cooking;-)

That would have caused the “check engine” light to come on. :)

After getting the check engine light shutoff, they have to drive 150 miles before going for inspection or the emission system will throw a “not ready” code.

That would have caused the “check engine” light to come on.

[check engine light comes on]
"Hey FE, check #7"
[FE looks out window]
"Still there, Cap."
"Ok."

Hope they do not have those pesky road side “sniffers” like in California that take a photo of your license plate for further smog prosecution.
