'I am the most drunk Democrat in Texas': (Shortened)
KLBJ news blog ^ | Sep 1, 2014 | Matt Pearce

A tweet from Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry's verified account on Sunday night included a disparaging image of the Democratic district attorney who is at the center of his criminal indictment on charges of abuse of power. The tweet was later deleted, followed by another from Perry's account that disavowed the post.

The earlier tweet posted an unflattering mock image of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, who was convicted of drunken driving in April 2013. Perry vetoed funds to her office when she refused to resign, which led to a grand jury in Austin this month indicting Perry — who is a potential 2016 presidential candidate.

The caption on the tweet reads: 'I don't always drive drunk at 3x the legal blood alcohol limit ...'

The Associated Press reported that the bottom of the caption of the tweet read 'but when I do, I indict Gov. Perry for calling me out about it. I am the most drunk Democrat in Texas.'

Lehmberg's office did not lead the grand jury investigation against Perry. It was handled by Michael McCrum, a San Antonio-based special prosecutor who was assigned by a Republican judge.

It seems to me that making the charge against the pathetic drunk is far more important than assigning the blame to the right democrat

As I posted earlier, with the receipts at only Twin Liquors for the past year, I wonder if she was EVER sober on the job. But, she is a government dim, so it is a resume enhancer.

She’ll appear on tv in a neck brace.

Actually, that might have been the best method. Deleting it gets the media’s attention and makes sure it gets on the news. Lasts longer that way - people *always* want to see what’s ‘forbidden’.

Hadn’t she purchased something like 30 gallons of vodka over a short period of time? Jeez!

Yup. Here is the FR thread.

Travis County DA Rosemary Lehmberg’s Drinking Problem and Abuse of Power, By the Staggering Numbers

From January 2012 to April 2013 — 15 months — Lehmberg made 59 purchases of alcohol at various Twin Liquors stores, a rate of nearly one purchase a week.

She bought 76 bottles of alcohol. According to the receipts, Lehmberg prefers Ciroc vodka. Lehmberg routinely purchased 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, at a price of nearly $60 each. On occasions, she bought more than one 1.75 liter bottle of Ciroc at a time.

There are a lot more liquor store chains than Twin Liquor stores. I don't believe she was ever stone sober on the job. Probably kept a flask in her desk and refilled it daily.

Sniff, peck, cavil, crayfish, whine.

it is still on KLBJ.

Right, now remind me who Landslide Lint'n was, and why a snark like that might appear on KLBJ's site.
