The summer of 1816 was so cold that crops failed to ripen. Tens of thousands of people died of starvation in various parts of Europe in the following year or so. The cold weather affected the US as well but I don’t think there was widespread starvation—more sources of food and a sparser population.

OK, that’s it.

I’m firing up the BBQ and the lawn mower and letting them run all weekend.

Ironically, if/when it breaks through the ice, they may end up praying for global warming.

Volcanic eruptions far exceed their carbon footprint allowances and should be subject to penalty taxes. Volcanoes are evil, greedy corporatists polluting the enviroment and wrecking climates for their unjust, ill-gotten gains.—or a leftist sumptin’ like dat. (.

If one volcanic eruption can cause this much climate disruption, how futile is it to cripple our economy with EPA carbon restrictions that MIGHT by some scenarios reduce temperatures by a hundredth of a degree?

Our planet has endured these natural climate disruptions for eons and has bounced back. Even the 1816 global cooling from Krakatoa only lasted a year. This totally disproves the idea of climate alarmists that we are on a climatological "tipping point" because of molecular level changes in CO2 levels. Our planet has feedback mechanisms that make it difficult for even these large scale events to totally change our climate let alone a molecular level change in CO2.

But volcanos are also supposed to cause global warming.
