One female lawyer made an interesting comment back in 1990. Commenting on how many of the female lawyers in the American Bar Association have had abortions:
Im practically the only one of my friends who hasnt had an abortion. Were talking about lots of women in this room
Sandra J P Dennis
Richmond Times Dispatch August 11, 1990
Its true that this quote is dated, but it makes one wonder. how has the high abortion rate affected the way these lawyers argued about cases relating to abortion? Are the statistics similar in 2014?

Getting that ticket is a long hard road — sometimes the price is too high.

Not nearly enough lawyers were aborted. Probably the only possible reason to do so: “we knew it would be a lawyer/politician.”

They fear their children might become lawyers. Scary thought.

Abortions of convenience. They don’t want to interrupt their careers.

I learned a long time ago to keep my mouth shut on the topic of abortion, especially around professional women, for just this reason.

A lady told me this one in church the other day.. St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. The snakes swam across the ocean to American and became lawyers.

Another way is to simply hold up a pro life sign at at pro life rally. You will find out very quickly when cars and tempers tend to go airborne.

You mean Godless, money-hungry, politically connected, liberal women tend to have abortions?!?
Surely this is from the Onion.

No, no, no, it's just one of the sacrifices that one must make when being called to the law "profession".
Billable hours, accepting being self-loathing, etc.

Indeed it is. Especially when the message as to why people get abortions by the pro-abortion crowd is because they feel that they can’t afford the child. But given the income of a lot of lawyers I know, plus the maternity leave benefits and the affordability of day care, something is fishy here.
To: Catmom
What’s odd to me is thw fact that we don’t have lawyers lobbying for mandating within Obamacare the mandate for longer maternity leave. Canada allows up to one year of maternity leave. EU nations are pressing to mandate even longer.

Oh and a side note...The lady who told me that joke, her late husband was a lawyer.
