Four... three... two...
Probably not. We’re stuck with names like “La’Shawna” and “Abcde”.
Nice work
I may be distantly related
Wow a whole 14 posts before South bashing
Turn of the century politicians were quite different than today. Here is a map of the 1896 election:
Red is republican for McKinley.
Blue is democrat for Bryan
Robin Williams ancestor was a liberal who favored going off of the Gold Standard. That eventually happened. Now Obama is printing money as fast as possible.
My intent was to note that liberal Robin Williams had a liberal ancestor.
Again, my apologies. I happen to have a deep respect for several "deep south" conservatives and those who support them. I have a hard time coming up with more than one northern republican that I respect.
There is still an Anselm McLaurin in the same town the governor lived and died in a century ago.
An interesting project would be to find ancestors who might have suffered from some modern malady that afflicts their descendants.
What would it have been like to be bipolar in 1900? How would the condition have manifested itself in a very different age?
Mississippi ping
He was probably named for St Anselm, who developed the ontological argument for the existence of God.

I’m sorry
By political correctness standards no politician back then was as vile libtard as today
Imagine a Senator from Connecticut or Alabama in 1896 favoring abortion or gay marriage or gun confiscations or confiscatory tax rates of any kind or property rights erosion or an open border for votes and so forth
Today’s libs are just neurotic pessimists.
I guess I am not. Williams would have been mortified if his public knew he had ancestors from Mississippi.
People like Williams spend their entire lives running from anything Southern in general and Mississippi in particular.
