“It’s next door to their Innovation Center.
This McDonalds is actually pretty unique. First of all its owned by McDonalds, its not a franchise. Second, this is the store where McDonalds tests all the new technology. New griddle? It gets tested here first. New ordering monitors, new deep fryer, all tested here first. If it doesnt work here, they dont offer it to their franchisees. They test everything in this store for YEARS before it gets mass produced so theyre sure it works well and is cost-effective.”
This is kind of an implied threat, then.
This is probably the future
The Government’s move to eliminate franchises and make all franchise employees into direct employees of the franchisor will kick the development of this technology into high gear.
“You have to pass it to find out what’s in it,” right, SEIU?
"Welcome to Carl's Jr. Would you like to try our EXTRA BIG ASS TACO? Now with more MOLECULES!"
This is probably the future...
cashless society.
For every action there is a reaction.
Sheetz and WaWa have been doing this for years but you have to pay a real live human cashier.
I like that not only can you robo-order but you can also robo-pay. Efficient.
Please come back when you can afford to make a purchase. Your kids are starving. Carl’s Jr. believes no child should go hungry. You are an unfit mother. Your children will be placed in the custody of Carl’s Jr.
LMAO. My first thought when I opened this thread. Idiocracy is officially here.
Carl’s Jr, F... You, I’m Eating.
Makes sense, really. Cashiers and, for that matter, half of what waiters and waitresses do, could be done more efficiently with basic, modern technology.
Several movie theatres in our area have new drink machines. You buy the cup and get the drink from the machine. You can do combos like cherry coke, strawberry lemonade etc. works pretty good and many more during options.CANDY AND ICE CREAM CAN BE VENDED. now just figure out the popcorn.
I estimate 1 person could keep the machines full and operating.
I think it’s well past the threat level. Minimum wage may influence when it’s deployed and how widely at first, but I suspect this is inevitable regardless of Obama’s meddling (minimum wage and claiming franchise employees are corporate employees).
Who could have guessed that it would turn out to be a documentary?
I estimate 1 person could keep the machines full and operating.
Notice that under the cover story of giving you more choices, they have put the drink machines out in the customer area, turning customers into their unpaid employees. If customers will work for free, why pay someone $15 an hour to do the same thing? Expect a lot of remodelings for fast food places in the near future, giving customers more choices.
