A libertarian is whatever a “libertarian” says it is

Bingo! But we must be vigilant to discern which is conservative in the Tea Party. Remember Ross Perot? He did the same tactic, splitting the Republicans with economic reason, but social libertarianism. Ergo Clinton without a majority vote.

Clinton won because Bush sucked.

libertarian positions can be one thing or another depending on how the question is asked.

Unless I am misunderstanding your post, you cannot be a social libertarian and a moral conservative Christian.

Why not?
Wouldn't this essentially boil down to recognizing that others are their own moral agents and, ultimately, responsible to God?

How many Republicans actually stand for the beliefs that they're supposed to be standing for?

Virtually none; it's:

As long as conservatives have a place in the Rep party. I will vote rep. When they decide social matters don’t matter and make deals with socialists, what part is left for me?

Well said!

You think laws passed by the Federal Government is going to turn this into a God fearing country?

You are a fool.

That confuses me, I was given the impression it was whatever a Big Government Conservative says it is.

I said absolutely nothing about laws passed by the federal government. Obviously I was talking about giant mutant flying rabbits with thick Australian accents!

Weird, laws passed by the Federal Government is the topic of the tread. What do you think Big Conservatives want to do?

What are you talking about?
There isn't a place for conservatives in the Republican party — they made that clear pushing Romney, and their actions as well:

  1. They claim to be for law and order, yet they do nothing against the NSA which violates the 4th, 5hh, and [arguably] 6th amendments as SOP.
  2. They claim to be for securing the border, but what state is it in? What state was it in when they has control of the Executive and Legislative?
[Take a look at US Constitution, Article 4, Section 4 if you want to get pissed about these political turds.]
  3. They claim to be for the 2nd Amendment, but when was the last time you ever heard a serious discussion on repealing the GCA or NFA?
  4. They claim to be against abortion; but what have they really done on that front? The feel-good partial-birth abortion act?
They added a not even in cases of incest and rape to their platform plank in 2012, even as they pushed Mr. Of-Course-I-Support-the-Right-For-Abortion-in-the-case-of-incest-rape-or-the-mother's-health Romney.
  5. They claim to be for law and order; yet Fast & Furious, the easiest Treason case in eighty years, simply slips by them?
This is ignoring that it's either a conspiracy or a group so incompetent that they literally cannot be trusted w/ any official position.
  6. They claim to be for sensible business policies; yet I see them doing nothing to reduce taxes.
(Note, tax-breaks are not an actual reduction in taxes; they are essentially the government giving you a gift.)
  7. They claim to be for lower taxes; I've heard absolutely jack about going to a uniform flat-rate, no exemptions, no write-offs, no credits, no exceptions system.
In fact, such a system would be absolutely the appropriate way to rein in the corruption in the IRS: by removing all discretion, you make it impossible for them to be a political weapon.
  8. They claim to be for a strong defense; yet they're keeping the front-door unlocked and wide-open?
Seriously, we could secure the border with less than 200 Paladins.
  9. They claim to be for the constitution yet look at all the above; are these the actions of a group that bears any allegiance to the US Constitution?
So, I really got to ask: What does the Republican party have to do to convince you that conservatives aren't welcome?
