Follow up to book sales Dinesh D'Souza AMERICA discussion of earlier this month.
We watched for it, searched through the stacks of books each week since early July for it, because the Libs think they are being cute when they bury the books under other stacks of books to keep Conservatives from buying what they want to read.
Anyway found the last one that was at the Moreno Valley Costco, and in fact IT WAS AT THE BACK OF A STACK, AND BURIED UNDER OTHER BOOKS.
The price was $15.27, and as it was the last copy they had I must conclude the others must have sold out.
Hillary's book has been gone from the Moreno Valley Costco's book table for several weeks now.
So there ya go, as promised in some other thread early July...my after action report on America Imagine a World Without Her at Costco. Now to read it.
Saw the movie in the theater.
EXCELLENT!
As it should be. It is currently #199 on Amazon's best seller list.

America is #52.

Are you sure they restocked it, or was that just one copy they didn’t see when they discontinued selling it?
Excellent point Duncan.
Hmmmmmm I had a link to one of the Costco articles posted. Guess I must have edited it out novice poster that I am. SHEESH!
FWIW here it is:

I remember a picture of her book signing at a COSTCO
a whole pallet of her books were there. Who knows if there was another off camera.
As I said in the post above we went through every stack on the table for weeks trying to find the book. I’d say at some point they must have restocked it as it was not there week after week until today’s find. Also they keep rearranging the book section there as they are reducing its size weekly.
They are apparently cutting back on book selling. As we show up in the middle of each week I’d say they sold whatever they had in for the prior weekend. It is a book in demand.
What is that, 4 pallets?? OMG
It’s a waste of four perfectly good pallets ;)
I bought the book @ Costco today. Interestingly, every book on display had a price tag, but D’Souza’s book just had a white tag that said Item number. I took a picture with my cell phone, but I don’t know how to get it to email so I can post it.
Denish D’Souza’s book has not been at my local Costco since before July. I called and asked the service representative in Seattle when it would be in. She said it was being shipped but wouldn’t be there until the end of July. Three weeks to stock a best selling book??
Yesterday I went to another Costco deep in liberal country. They had D’Souza’s book but NOT ONE HAD A PRICE. Every other book on the table had a price.D’Souza’s book had no price.
I mentioned it to two Costo employees. They were very defensive. They did NOT run to fix the situation .
Clearly Costco does not want to sell that book. Clearly I do not want to renew my membership.
That’s the beginning. Wonder how many were left after.
That is exactly what I am seeing. Anybody else see this??
Went to Barnes & Noble in Houston suburbs to pick up another copy for my son today. Didn’t see any so gave the clerk the name of the book and the author FOUR times and then finally wrote it down for her. She said she had never heard of it and didn’t know there was a movie out. By the time I finished my explanation she knew way more than she ever intended to. She checked the inventory, said they were out and would have more but not until the end of August. Then I spoke to the manager. He said they apparently “under estimated” the volume that would be sold and had to reorder. Lots of Hillary books there.
So I’m now on the hunt for America and the book, too.
I see in post #12 Baynative had the same experience as you with the pricing. Ours had the white tag with the stock #, but also had a little yellow sticker over that white sticker with the stock number with the price on it of $15.27, so I guess this particular Costco that we shop at did want to sell the book.
We had already just (by a week) renewed our membership when this situation over the book popped up, otherwise we wouldn’t have, and we are Executive Members. We were so angry with that SOB’s statement about pulling the book I know we wouldn’t have. We are going to go to SAM’s Club to check their facility out for next year (Never been to one). I don’t believe we will be at Costco after next renewal time. We aren’t BIG WalMart people, but we might become more involved.
Thank you patriot.
BTW mine was $17.99
What happens if you take it to the register and there is no price on it?
