This 8-year-old dog was killed inside his own home (near Austin, TX) because the burglar alarm went off when the owner wasn't home.

I wonder if the dog was wearing a mask or a hoodie? That would explain it...

I wouldn’t go that far.

@ TADSLOS Thank you for the warning. I need to bring my computer to Austin to be repaired. My dogs go everywhere with me & they are not friendly to anyone approaching the car. (I guess I’ll come alone & leave them with DH)

Right now, there doesn’t seem to be any mechanism that effectively can prevent a warrantless police raid on your home, with or without any legitimate reason for doing so.

Claymores and napalm

LOL, wouldn’t surprise me although I have never heard that. It would sure be a wise move if you could pull it off. The differences in cost and aggravation are stunning! Even I would do a little begging!

Couldn’t agree more. It’s almost like they (police chiefs) think they can operate a police force successfully while ignoring public opinion.

I mean, don’t these dang cops have dogs! The only way I would shoot dog is if he had been knowing on my leg and was about to bite it off and run away with it!

This is getting bad. Does our government have anything to do with this?

See yefrage's post #24:

yefragetuwrabrumuy wrote: I think the problem here is that people seldom realize that a burglar alarm is legally similar to a “hue and cry”, so that if one goes off, it effectively removes 4th amendment protections against police search.

Word to the wise...

Now, explain to me again why they felt it was necessary to “clear” the house, when the dog was already doing a very good job of making them fearful to be inside?

Quit asking rude questions, CurlyDave.

Even if I take it down, you really cannot miss the cameras.

They’re everywhere.

No idea how I can ‘hide’ them and still leave their full viewing angles intact.

Round Rock Police commander Jim Stuart said the dog was barking and growling before lunging at an officer.

One of the officers fired a single shot; the second officer fired six rounds. Stuart said the dog kept coming at them after being shot the first time.

Yes, and it was throwing poisoned ninja Stars of Death, while doing back-flips like in the Chinese martial arts movies. And it pulled two samurai swords on them. And nun-chuks.

Don't forget the nun-chuks.

Usually, they empty their magazines on their targets. And then reload and shoot some more.

The dog owner should check for "residual DNA"...

That is good info, I appreciate the heads up.

I do not activate mine ever.

I basically only use it for the little beep beep beep I hear anytime a door or window opens, and that is it.

I do not want my dog shot by cops.

I’d rather be burgled honestly, because I would flip out if they shot my dog inside my house. I think it would likely end with me leaving this rock that same day.
