IMHO, one of the best hard rock/metal tunes of all time. Dio was just epic in this one.

I heard “Kill the King” not too long ago.

RIP Dio

I was lucky enough to see him when he was touring with Motorhead and Maiden in 2003.

I love this song! Dio was one of my all-time favorite hard rock/metal singers. Still can’t believe he’s gone. Thanks for posting this.

That must’ve been a heck of a show. Even though without Fast Eddie, the swing has gone out of live Motorhead music; Phil Campbell doesn’t have the same feel.

Can’t believe Blackmore is still burned out on the hard rock sound though. He doesn’t have Jon Lord (another RIP) around to jam with anymore; that was one musician that could keep him grounded somewhat.

I walked in when Motorhead was already playing. Every time Mickey Dee hit the bass drum, it was like a kid punching my chest. I’ve never again felt so much bass from the bass drum at any other show. Motorhead was looooooud.

That’s a good one, too! Interestingly (or not), Guns and Roses lifted a few riffs from KtK for their early song “Reckless Life”

No problem, glad you enjoyed it!

Love your handle, btw. Rising is a masterpiece. One of my favorite albums ever.

Love both of those! While I wasn’t as big a fan of a lot of the later Rainbow stuff, Stone Cold is just a great track.

Saw Rainbow at the Orange Show Grounds in San Bernardino CA. around 1981 or so, great show.

Love Dio. I also love Joe Lynn Turner. The best concert I ever saw was Rainbow/Scorpions and the garden in 1982.

If you watch some of his Blackmores Night videos, he teases with his electric fairly frequently, sending the fanboys off into screaming spasms that he’s coming back to hard rock.

While I would welcome it as a pleasant surprise, I don’t see it happening. He actually seems happy and settled with what he is doing now. Those two words never entered into any of his other enterprises.

Can’t get into the Blackmore’s Night stuff. Now of anything he’s done, that seems to me to be the most pretentious. I’d hate to see what would happen to him if Candice decided to give him the boot.

She would have to find another meal ticket. She is nothing more than a Stevie Nicks Wannabe

I agree. It’s a terrific album start to finish. Not one throwaway track, in my opinion.
