When a family member is ill or injured, domestic violence is assumed and acted upon by police and/or medical employees.

In general, 911 protocol on any call with some element of danger or uncertainty is to send police to secure the scene before ambulance arrives.
Around here, there is a real effort to let the cops know about call history at the location and they will often know that one of the residents has dementia.
But, if the caller has a history of problems with the cops, they will know that as well and the cops will pull up expecting a fight.
Missouri seems to be a hotbed of bad cops and overreaction. I knew before I read the story it had to be in MO.

His injuries seem a little excessive to me. We are talking about a senior citizen after all.

Probably time for guerilla war. A few targeted assassinations against these thugs and they will start fearing the people. Look up 4th Generation Warfare sometime to see how we are going to have to make the fight VERY personal for the tyrants.

Always wondered what a peasant who was "resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer" looked like. You should have seen the other guy's boots...

What ever happened to arriving, announcing “we’re the police” and asking what is going on. —
They consider all citizens always lie to them, so why waste time asking anything?

You know, the one who was keeping his nose clean, working, paying taxes, and raising four kids with his wife (not baby mama).
I'm sure the other Missourians manning the oars of the Missouri State tax galley are feeling the love, too...

“There has got to be more to this story than a few paragraphs in The Daily Caller.
It makes no sense.”
Why? Why MUST there be more? Because it isn’t a praise report of LE? News flash, cops behave this poorly routinely. That kind of automatic trust of cops is what enables their worst offenders. Too many refuse to examine their actions critically.
Saying there must be more is like saying there must be more to the story of cops shooting up newspaper ladies. It just isn’t all that hard to find such as this story, about good people who have no history.

Litle did America suspect that when the police write To protect and to serve on the sides of their cruisers, it means to serve up Joe Citizen for dinner to officers as violent - and ravening - as Pit Bulls. That is a vicious slander to pit bulls.

Maybe I’ll just drive the wife to the hospital next time. Save some time, and a beat down.

But there are also idiots who police have to deal with. Excuse me, but these officers are not forced to have a career in law enforcement, they are not drafted into service against their will. They can go take another job if it's that bad dealing with the public.
