I think it could have easily stopped if David Koresh would have talked with authorities. I don’t remember much of the story, but communication is a good thing for the living. Not so much for the dead.

If you read the accounts, court testimony, etc. you would see how wrong you are.

“I think it could have easily stopped if David Koresh would have talked with authorities.”

He did. He invited the Sheriff in just days before who went and spoke with David. What more do you want? How much are we supposed to beg our government not to attack us?

This was all over a $200 tax stamp for weapons. $200 bucks and we’re supposed to beg not to be attacked?

The ATF came in to kill people. There was no reason to conduct an armed assault. They could have detained him in town on almost any day.

The Branch Davidians had a couple of AR-15 autosears for which they had not bought the $200 tax stamps.

79 people were murdered over a few hundred dollars of unpaid taxes.

They could of picked him up in town, alone, easily.

They chose not to, they instead chose to do this.

Sorry, but that has no basis in fact whatsoever. These folks were no danger to anyone else. If they'd wanted to arrest David Koresh, they could have done so the Sunday previous to the initial raid, when he was at the same gun range as the ATF. The local sheriff is on record as saying that all they'd had to to was to have him call Mr. Koresh and he'd come to his office. Everything, from the very beginning was a complete abuse of government power from the very beginning, that ultimately resulted in the murder of over 90 people (the headline is wrong. They apparently left out the 17 children killed by the CS gas that was pumped in to the building to act as an accelorant.

These people had no reason whatsoever to think, after the initial raid that killed and wounded several of them that they would be treated like human beings by Fedzilla. They were obviously correct in that assumption.

How many times could they have simply arrested Koresh when he went into town?

I think it could have easily stopped if David Koresh would have talked with authorities.

The county sheriff could have easily picked up Koresh on his regular visits outside their land. The Feds could have done so as well.

However, the BATF wanted to provide a show to the media, which would improve the BATF's budgeting for the year, which is why they invited the media along for the "dynamic entry." Even though the BATF KNEW that they no longer had the element of surprise, they attempted a violent confrontation, all the while with Koresh begging them not to, because there were women and children inside.
