State Dep’t Official Warns of Backlash in Promoting LGBT Rights Abroad

Addressing an event on “global LGBT rights,” a senior State Department official on Wednesday sounded a note of caution about how the U.S. promotes such issues in religiously or culturally conservative countries, warning of the risk of a backlash there.

“We should maintain enough humility to remember that we are terribly new at promoting LGBT human rights as U.S. foreign policy. Of course we want to do good – but we should do it, with patience, in a way that results in the maximum benefit for those we want to help.”

The Obama administration’s State Department has made promotion of LGBT issues a foreign policy priority, particularly at the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva, where in June 2011 the U.S. co-sponsored the first-ever resolution adopted by the U.N. on the human rights of LGBT people.

Six months later then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered a Human Rights Day-themed speech in Geneva on LGBT rights, describing the issue as “one of the remaining human rights challenges of our times.” Religious beliefs and cultural values do not justify the failure to uphold the human rights of LGBT people, she argued.

“We should maintain enough humility to remember that we are terribly new at promoting LGBT human rights as U.S. foreign policy. Of course we want to do good – but we should do it, with patience, in a way that results in the maximum benefit for those we want to help.”

A little Benghazi Background:

The murdered Ambassador was a way-out-in-the-open queer. In hiring security personnel, he directed that preference be given to those involved in "same-sex 'marriages.' This, in Libya.

So much for political correctness. Until you work overseas and attend a few embassy or consular functions, you might have no idea about just how gay the State department is.

” I’d say they are being fattened up BY the communists.”

Only in a sense that it will destroy Western civilization. Of course the communists are promoting it. They can destroy America without firing a shot.

Yup. Should be obvious to anyone. Well, once upon a time it WAS obvious to EVERYONE. But we have ‘grown’ since then. We are the people we have been waiting for now!

AKA communists our (liberal) selves.

You sum it up well. I’d say the same is true of the feminazis.

Same people really when you get down to it. they are all members of each others groups to inflate their numbers and make it look like 200000 people instead of 2000.

The same names always appear on membership lists. The greenies have that trick down to a science.
