State Dep’t Official Warns of Backlash in Promoting LGBT Rights Abroad
CNS News ^ | 04/17/2014 | Patrick Goodenough

Addressing an event on “global LGBT rights,” a senior State Department official on Wednesday sounded a note of caution about how the U.S. promotes such issues in religiously or culturally conservative countries, warning of the risk of a backlash there.

“We should maintain enough humility to remember that we are terribly new at promoting LGBT human rights as U.S. foreign policy. Of course we want to do good – but we should do it, with patience, in a way that results in the maximum benefit for those we want to help.”

The Obama administration’s State Department has made promotion of LGBT issues a foreign policy priority, particularly at the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva, where in June 2011 the U.S. co-sponsored the first-ever resolution adopted by the U.N. on the human rights of LGBT people.

Six months later then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered a Human Rights Day-themed speech in Geneva on LGBT rights, describing the issue as “one of the remaining human rights challenges of our times.” Religious beliefs and cultural values do not justify the failure to uphold the human rights of LGBT people, she argued.

“We should maintain enough humility to remember that we are terribly new at promoting LGBT human rights as U.S. foreign policy. Of course we want to do good – but we should do it, with patience, in a way that results in the maximum benefit for those we want to help.”

So let me get this straight - our diplomats get MURDERED in Benghazi, and our response is to promote LGBT deviants overseas? YHGTBSM.

According to the article, it is a top priority of the U.S. to promote gays in the world.

How about promote HUMAN rights, without mention of sexuality.

This may just be another attempt to appease sub-human, uncivilized islamic behavior.

Most Christians inside the US don’t want to hear about gay rights, but it is crammed down their throats daily. (no pun intended)

Can’t wait to see how well this goes over in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries — including the Netherlands and France

“According to the article, it is a top priority of the U.S. to promote gays in the world.”

In countries too long at peace bizarre things happen that are unrelated to the national interest. In England before WW2 the army spent more maintaining polo ponies than it did on developing aircraft. If an officer was involved in a divorce proceeding he was “asked” to resign. It probably takes being stressed to the point of death before nations get back to dealing with what is really important. I’m guessing and hopping that this particular pendulum has swung as far left as it can and that it will soon start swinging back.

One does not need be psychic to see that many gays around the world will experience backlash to the lunacy the State Dept is pushing.

And it will be very ugly. Because literally BILLIONS of people do not give a tinkers Damn what Hillary! or NAMBLA thinks about the ‘rights’ of gays. And they do not have our ‘go along get along’ attitude.

So when it happens, lets all be sure to put the blame on the right people. Our liberals.

Hoagland, who is homosexual, had personal experience with that kind of backlash during a posting in Pakistan several years ago.

In late June 2011, the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad held its first-ever lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender “pride celebration.” Hoagland, then the number two diplomat at the mission, co-hosted the event with Gays and Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies, an organization that represents gays and lesbians at the State Department, USAID and other agencies.

A week later, protestors ... “They have destroyed us physically, imposed the so-called war on terrorism on us and now they have unleashed cultural terrorism on us,”

The countries targeted for this propaganda have a choice; either promote deviancy or give up U.S. taxpayer funding. I’m hoping they do the latter.

Yep that is the first part of the plan. The second part will be granting them asylum in the US because they have a credible fear of persecution orchestrated by the State Department.

Its all just part of the plan.

yep, and also in Russia.

A lot of my support for Putin stems from his standing up to the gay mafia and the pure evil being pushed world wide by our sodomite in chief.

US Ambassadors now routinely march in their host countries' gay pride parades. The US Amb to Germany marched at the front of such a parade in Berlin, right in front of a banner for a local bath house.

And they take a dozen or so embassy staff members with them, meaning we taxpayers are shelling out thousands in staff time to pay gay pride marchers.

I agree. Look at how homosexuals have taken any number of ‘institutions’ from within. Starting with the American Psychiactric Assoc.

They preached for years openly that they had to work their way into positions of power. But no one listened. Because that was the ‘radicals’ saying it...except it wasn’t.

It will blow up IMO, far worse than Uganda. Because it’s easy for a straight person to defend homosexual whatever online and in Starbucks and schools. But it isn’t in the streets. There are only at best 3% of the population who are gay. A tiny fraction of them are the problem ‘militants’ pushing this all. I am willing to bet most go along with it because they are ‘the thing’ right now.

But when the SHTF, they will dive back into the closet and all the ivory tower supporters will clam up quick. The fraction of a percent will still be screaming but no one will be listening.

I never hated homosexuals. I don’t hate most of them now. But I have never and will never ‘accept it’. Actions have consequences. And most of this planet finds it abhorrent. And shaming propaganda from liberals does not change their minds. And they outnumber the ‘true believers’ by orders of magnitude.

I think I know what is going on here. The US is fleshing out the LBGT’s for the Communists and the Islamists.

Once they are in charge, they will begin the species cleansing.

Apparently the crocs will eat them first.

Well considering the promotion of Homosexuality was one of the planks of the 1963 communist goals, I would say that they aren’t being fattened up to feed to communists. I’d say they are being fattened up BY the communists.

Regardlng so-called LGBT rights, please bear in mind the following. The states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect such rights. Such rights are essentially being legislated from the bench by activist judges and with the pen by corrupt government bureaucrats.

And the main reason that activists are getting away with pushing the gay agenda, imo, is because parents have not been making sure that their children are being taught about constitutionally enumerated rights and 10th Amendment-protected state powers.
