"Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the sequel to Marvel's 2011 film about the Red, White and Blue super hero, smashed its way to $96.2 million in weekend ticket sales, setting a new record for an April release and speeding past last week's winner, "Noah."
The film, which stars Chris Evans as a scrawny World War Two reject given super powers from an experimental serum, easily exceeded the April take for the racing movie "Fast Five," which collected $86.2 million in ticket sales in April 2011.
"Noah," starring Russell Crowe as the biblical figure, was second with $17 million in ticket sales from Friday to Sunday, and has collected $72.3 million in overall domestic sales since opening last week, according to studio estimates. It's total worldwide take is about $180 Million.
The dystopian action film "Divergent" was third with $13 million, for a total of $114 million since its March 21 release in U.S. and Canadian theaters.

People know. They don't admit it to themselves quite yet, but there is a groundswell in this country, and people sense that something is wrong. And it's not just the US. It's the EU and it's Russia and China too. Everywhere.
For the record: I think it's all much, much worse than anyone can imagine, and I think the superstructure of society will inevitably collapse. I see massive debt default, the end of the nation state, and the rise of small, weak governments in all corners of the globe. In many respects, it will be a Dark Age. But there will be some possibility that the chaos will allow a rebirth of freedom.
I'm actually expecting all of that to be forestalled by the Second Coming, but no man can predict that hour, so in the absence of the return of Jesus, I say we're in for a bumpy ride.
Saw Noah. No mention of God punishing man for sin. ‘The Creator’ punished man for misusing the earth. The film had rock transformers throwing lightning bolts. I think Al Gore wrote the screenplay. It is a laughable film.
Not the day or the hour, but you can discern the signs when it’s near.
I have all 3 of the Ironman movies on DVR and just finished watching the last one an hour ago.
Enjoyed all 3 of them.

Lucky guy I cant wait to see capt. America,I really do like all those superhero movies.Heaven knows we need a superhero just about now.
A couple of interesting points.
1. The Clintons were involved in trying to steal the rights to the Marvel Comics Series from Stan Lee.
2. Stan Lee always has a cameo role in each of the Marvel Series Movies.
I thought they where way better than they had to be for something like that. Really raised the bar for sure as far as I am concerned.

I fear you’re right. A few years ago, I would’ve laughed at such a statement as conspiracy theory nonsense.

He appears in some not all, he hasn’t been any of the Xmen movies since the first one.
Watching “Turn” on AMC now. So far so good.
