A Christian preacher arrested and imprisoned without food and water after he told two gay teenagers the Bible says homosexuality is a sin, has won £13,000 in compensation for poor treatment by police.

John Craven, 57, says he was held by Greater Manchester Police after he told the couple 'God hates sin, but he loves the sinner'.

The young men then kissed in front of him and approached a police officer and claimed Mr Craven's comments were 'insulting' and had caused them 'harassment and distress.'

Mr Craven said he was 'grabbed roughly by the arm' on suspicion of public order offences and later denied food, water and access to medication for his rheumatoid arthritis while in custody for 19 hours. He was later bailed before being told no action would be taken against him.

In the United States, you do not violate the Constitution when you “offend” someone without measurable, ascertainable harm. The Leftists are trying to change that. Looks like a done deal in the UK.

Oh if only we could have such forward thinking laws in America, where all it takes is for a special class to make an accusation and someone is immediately persecuted......oh wait.

If God means nothing to you, why does the implication that you’re sinning bother you?

The UK does not have a Constitution, per se. It does have basic principles and precedent that have been accepted through the centuries, as well as specific Acts of Parliament that serve as a commonly accepted basis for government and individual rights. But it is not like the USA's Constitution. Add in the EU Constitution and their attempt to enshrine bureaucratic modern progressivism and statism among member states - and one really must be careful that enforcement of the laws will just flow with the fashion and whim of the times.

There’s is no 1st Amendment in the U.K. I have no doubt the Left would like to see this happen here.

As long as that was only applied to conservatives.
