Just put of by Netflix streaming. Rush was the most solid and cool and allaround awesome band of the past half century. 'Now I didn't ask for no argument'.
Heh; that’s a double negative. So which has the harder drum parts, YYZ or La Villa Strangiato?
“Rush was the most solid and cool and allaround awesome band of the past half century”
uh huh
Sure hope they venture here sooner rather than later.40+ years and not one visit down under!
sorry...
lead singer sounds too much like Luther in the movie “The Warriors”
“War-riors...come out and play-ay!”
Zep hands down
I didn’t ask for NO argument’.
So your not ask us not to argument?
Really don’t matter, Rush may have talented people around but he is not a good singer. But I think Bo-Snerdley can.
So says you.
I do believe Neil Peart is a solid conservative.
Definitely
During a conversation with the NME in 1977, Peart was asked about his reasons for basing Rushs song 2112 on the work of right-wing philosopher Ayn Rand.
I recall that NME interview very well because the conversation was great, Peart recalls in an interview in the forthcoming new edition of Classic Rock. And we all felt totally betrayed after, because we had a lovely time with the guy. I remember him being so courteous. It was so amicable. As far as I was concerned, we were just having an intellectual conversation. But these things are wide open to misinterpretation, and that was a classic case.
Peart, who has since distanced himself from Rands writings, added: I know where I fall politically. And I define it better now: Im a libertarian, but a bleeding-heart libertarian.
I believe in taxation and health care that is outside the usual libertarian mandate, because I dont want people to have to suffer. Its as simple as that. If people are suffering and I can help, I want to. But heres the difference between being an idealist and a realist. Idealistically, I believe that we should help people. But realistically, do I think that government will do that? No.

I count the number of Rush songs that I can tolerate on one hand-Tom Sawyer, Working Man, Closer to the Heart, and one other that is so awesome I can’t even remember it’s name. AC/DC rules and they’re going back to the Studio in May btw.
Based on an interview I recently read, I believe he has moved quite a bit to the right since then.
No thanks, the music the band played may have been good, but that high pitched voice was too excruciating.
Had my issues with Led Zeppelin at times for the same reason.
I may not agree but it’s great and free speech to boot to here people plug the bands they really like, I’ve hung around in a number of music discussions. Amazon and so on. Rush is probably big enough to have their own forum. Also, a lot of it depends on mood.
Grand Funk Railroad are the finest musicians who ever stepped foot on a stage to play rock and roll.

They were the ‘Greatest’. The proof is in and indisputable.
Other bands were better in some ways though.
“Rush”- that’s a radio show isn’t it?
I’ve been a big fan of Zep, if the FM station plays it, it’s a pleasant surprise, great listenable stuff, I’ve had all their albums but I can’t get by that they did lift some riffs and yes, you could say that about a lot of music alright. I even heard Howard Stern who I usually don’t listen to discuss it in youtube videos.
Too many bands out there for one to be the most awesome. Really, I appreciate them all the same.
Friend of mine is a big Van Halen fan down to having VH decals on his truck. Like I say variety is the spice of life, some people swear to Deep Purple, ACDC, and so on.
Yeah, I like Aerosmith but no way would I try to push them being the best but do enjoy. This is probably where I lose folks. :)
I got to see them again in Baltimore last year.
