Santa Clara University will be hosting a Rainbow Prom this Friday with a pro-same-sex marriage theme, according to the Universitys website.
SCUs Rainbow Resource Center states the event titled Say I Do to Marriage Equality, is sponsored by the student groups GASPED (Gay and Straight People for the Education of Diversity) and the Santa Clara Community Action Program (SCCAP). The Universitys website urges students to bring your partner and/or friendsall are welcome!
The event was created in 2010 after a high school student was not allowed to attend a prom with a same-sex date. The Santa Clara Community Action Program website describes it as the hottest, freshest, most inclusive party of the year!
This year's theme is weddings! Say I do to Marriage Equality, the group states. Put on your fancy pants, your dancing shoes, ask that special someone to be your date, and maybe you'll be the one to catch the bouquet! wink
The event is exclusively for students of the Jesuit University.
Santa Claras Activities Programming Board (APB) advertised a speed dating event on Tuesday night on its Facebook site by urging students to use the event to find yourself a date for Rainbow Prom or for Valentine's Day!
I’m gonna keep throwing this out there until everybody is talking about it:
I’ll call a relationship between two men or two women a “Marriage” if they’ll call an embryo and a fetus a “Baby”.
Isn’t that a fair compromise?
John, you have competition.
Pope Tells Notre Dame to ‘Defend, Preserve, Advance Catholic Identity
Never compromise what’s right.
“Universities” and “schools” have become recruiting stations for the homosexual agenda. Freaky! No wonder the millennials are too “stressed” out to learn anything.
Well, I guess it's over.
Okay everyone, relax!
If you like your straight marriage, you’ll be able to keep your straight marriage - Period.
Oddly, the founding principles of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) do not mention gay proms.
“Whoever desires to serve as a soldier of God beneath the banner of the Cross in our Society, which we desire to be designated by the Name of Jesus, and to serve the Lord alone and the Church, his spouse, under the Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ on earth, should, after a solemn vow of perpetual chastity, poverty and obedience, keep what follows in mind. He is a member of a Society founded chiefly for this purpose: to strive especially for the defence and propagation of the faith and for the progress of souls in Christian life and doctrine.”
I thought it was Catholic U in Washington DC. Glad it is not. Anything Catholic in California is not Catholic in the South.
Good one.
If I was paying for it, I’d get my son or daughter out of there, fast! And I would never give a cent more to ANY Catholic organization.
What is it precisely that you Latins’ bishops do? Surely the local ordinary could have put a stop to this.
These “catholic” universities have been anything but for years now. Do not blame the entire Catholic Church for what these schools do. Just because the schools were started by Catholics doesn’t mean they still are.
So true.........after laughing, I thought to myself, this isn’t “Catholic”, its CCU, meaning “California Catholic University”.
So far I see the Pope in overt violation of at least three of the Ten Commandments. And it’s likely going to get worse.
I’m sorry for the Church and The Flock.
Headline led me to believe it was my son’s alma mater, Catholic U. Not that it would be a shock...
What 3 commandments has the pope violated? By the way ... The pope doesn’t run the American universities.
