That’s Douglas MacArthur and George S. Patton clearing out the ‘Bonus Army’.
Put down by MacArthur and Eisenhower was his aide. But orders are orders.
General MacArthur commandeered and led the attacks against the Bonus Army.
And then the government decides to mess with Henry Bowman.
Bad mistake.
Wrong! The veterans had largely dispersed and were replaced by communists and assorted rabble spoiling for a fight.
The Left will never forgive MacArthur for rolling up those communists.
No one taught this in my history classes.
Today we are better equipped and our numbers are greater and we are under no illusion that troops would not kill their neighbors. It would be a blood bath, go after the officers first. Find their families and go Chinese mafia.
The veterans involved were no better than the Occupy Wall Street crowd at that point. They were using the threat of force to try and extort money out of the American people through Congress.

This was the “Bonus Army”.
WWI vets were given bonds for their serrvice - payable something like 25 years after the end of the war.
Unfortunarely, the Great Depression came along and the vets wanted the government to pay off early.
They gathered in camps along the Mall in DC - similar to “Hoovervilles” or “Occupy Wall Street.”
The government’s position was “a deal is a deal” and that it didn’t have the money at the time anyway.
Thus, the Army was ordered to clear the vets off of the Mall ...
Since this administration is doing all it can to destroy the US economy and cause another great depression, it won’t only be veterans at the mall in DC, it will be the great racial/class war that the communists have been working for since Roosevelt.

I can remember our high school history teacher, Mr. Hester, teaching us about the bonus army.
I can’t remember which grade we were in. I do recall that he was a great admirer of Douglas McArthur.
I’m assuming this is the Bonus Army? Known about this for years. It was widely disseminated in the gun culture by John Ross in his novel Unintended Consequences, and also by the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, of which I am a supporter.
