Nine members of the Eritrea national football team and the coach of the squad have disappeared in Kenya following a regional football tournament.
After Eritrea were eliminated from the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, which was won by Kenya last weekend, the 12 men disappeared.
Cecafa general secretary Nicholas Musonye told Reuters: "The players and the coach have absconded."

My reason for this belief is that’s why Ethiopia annexed them at one point in time, or so that’s what I remember hearing when I lived in Asmara for a few months in the late 60’s when Eritrea was a part of Ethiopia.
I don’t know. I know about Ethiopia in the 30s and 40s, and I was aware of the war where Eritrea succeeded in breaking off, but I’m not well informed other than that.
Will the Detroit Lions take the hint and defect to a safe collegiate squad after the last game of the year?
Good analogy!
