Photo Of JFK 4 Days Before Assassination That Haunts Me
Self | November 23, 2013 | Self

Posted on 11/23/2013 3:35:14 PM PST by PJ-Comix

I like to surf around the web sort of checking out many topics of interest. As we approached the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, I remembered that he visited Miami just 4 days earlier. I knew this because my father had actually been in the Miami crowd that saw Kennedy and he commented later that it was hard to believe he was dead because he looked so young and alive just days earlier.

Well, I got curious about this and when the Miami Herald had an article with photos of Kennedy's visit to Miami, I checked them out. What I saw both shocked and haunts me. Here is the photo below that struck me. JFK has his left arm extended and just behind his hand is a man with glasses who looks to be my FATHER!!!

I am not 100% positive but it sure looks like him. The person not only looks like him but he is wearing the same type of shirt my Dad typically wore back then and he always wore glasses. At first it looks like there is hair on top and that would rule out my father since he was bald. However, if you look carefully that hair appears to belong to someone hidden from view. Also if you look at the at the part of the head below the hand stretched out towards Kennedy, you see no hairline.

My father passed away this past Sept. 1 and I will ask relatives here for Thanksgiving for their opinion on this. Also I would love to see more photos of that event that would reveal more of the man near Kennedy who appears to be my father.

If anybody knows how I could access more of those photos for verification, I sure would appreciate it.

Library of Congress might have something. The Smithsonian also.

That guy two heads left of camera guy doesn’t seem very exalted in JFK’s presence.

This one was taken by my Aunt Mary in Hyannis in August of 1963.

Everyone in that picture (except perhaps the secret Service Guy) are now deceased.

Have you tried asking the Miami Herald? I found the same picture on their site, so it’s evidently a picture they shot.

Appears to be a different angle, maybe 3 or 4 feet to the left, of the same moment.

It wouldn't surprise me if that were my father because he was very aggressive in public situations so him getting right in front of JFK wouldn't surprise me at all. One time we were at Miami airport and we ran across locally famous TV anchorman Ralph Renick, who was there to do a story with a film crew. My dad kept pressing in on Renick asking him for details about the story he was covering and Renick wasn't too happy about that at all. Also Dad kept calling him by first name, "Ralph," which Renick seemed to hate. In fact, it seemed like Ralph Renick didn't like any personal contact with strangers at all. Meanwhile he kept cringing as my dad pressed in on him asking, "So, Ralph. Is this going to be on the news tonight, Ralph?"

Years later Ralph Renick ran for governor of Florida and lost badly. Main reason was that he absolutely couldn't connect with other people. He came off as a snob. No surprise there.

If that is hair on the guy’s head then not my dad. Still hard to tell from pic.

That is very close to the same moment. The man in question appears to have hair and at least 60 years old.

That would rule out my Dad. He was a lot younger then and bald. Oh well. Maybe he is in another pic. He definitely saw JFK on Nov. 18, 1963.

Not only that dude, but it looks like your father may have been shaking JFK’s right hand - your father’s hand is reaching down and JFK’s right had is not visible, but looks like he might be shaking hands....

No. Definitely not my dad now that I see that guy’s arms. My dad had noticeably thicker arms.

Except that wasn’t my dad. I see that now. BTW, if he had shook JFK’s hand he would have told me. All he told me is he saw JFK in person that day.

It is same sit, different angle, hands are same. Like artists say, ability to draw hands is the go.

PJ.. you say your dad had no hair at the time. Don’t see any bald guys in the conflap.
