The thread on the USA/Mexico a month ago was so popular, I couldn't resist posting on this story, Mexico looked to have to settle for a draw which would have seriously stymied their World Cup hopes, it won't be an easy road no matter what, Mexico scored early in the game, Panama drew it up in the 81st minute.

And not to support the TriColor but what happened in the 85th minute is an absolute Wonder Goal that needs to be seen by football/soccer fans. Talk about dramatics before 100,000 of your own supporters on a Friday night.

It’s a shame Mexico won. A tie would have put Panama in the driver’s seat. It would have been great if El-Tri was sitting home next summer. Let’s hope Hondura’s takes care of business against the Reggae Boyz.

I saw yesterday, that Switzerland qualified for the WC. I thought, wow that’s pretty good of them...until I saw who they had in their group:

Iceland
Slovenia
Norway
Albania
Cyprus

Are you freaking kidding me? Who did the Swiss bribe to get into that group?

Australia has Cahill and Lucas Neill, I wonder if there was a player rebellion because at the least, those are good players for that team to have been trounced so badly at the Parc de Princes in Paris and Australia is already qualified to go to the World Cup.

Something that could really intensify the Mexico/US soccer rivalry - Mexico goes to CR and loses (could happen, even with CR already thru) and the US goes down to Panama and rolls over (intentionally?), gets beat by several goals, and Mexico goes out on goal diff.!

Fortunately for Mexico, I know the US has too much class to do that.

2 legs in November, I’d give New Zealand a chance. NZ wasn’t that poor at the last World Cup but I do see Mexico beat them in a friendly in Mexico in June 2011, 3-0.

The thing is, we know Mexico is good but as long as they don’t have their act together, they are not a good team.
