Monday, October 25, 20105 Best Countries to Escape America's Decline Activist Post
Okay, you're upset with the direction America is headed and you've been thinking of moving to another country. Perhaps you feel exhaustively cynical about the political, economic, or social situation in the U.S. and think it is beyond repair. You wouldn't be alone. Many top economists and other trend forecasters are now openly predicting that a total economic, environmental, and social collapse may be imminent in America.

As a natural pessimist, I am struggling today. Got me thinking, where should I take my family to escape this insanity I see everyday. These look like some decent options. I like warm weather, Iceland might be too cold for me. I do not agree we are close to an environmental collapse, but it won't be long now till we experience the other stuff.

I have a close friend who is sinking serious resources
into a home in Belize, near a Mennonite community
He's dead serious

Belize is shown on Guatemalan maps as being a province of Guatemala. Whenever the political situation gets dicey in Guatemala whoever the leader is starts whipping-up passions (Falklands-style)to go and retake it.
The Brits have recruited some highly capable Ghurkas to patrol the border, but there is always the risk of invasion.
Same with Costa Rica. They disbanded their army in the 1940’s as the only way to keep it from staging coups against the elected government. If the Sandinista neighbors get ornery it could be a dicey situation.

When the zombie apocalypse happens, it will be worldwide, and I wouldn’t sell life insurance to anyone foolish enough to live in Belize OR Costa Rica.

I’ll be long gone by Monday, October 25, 20105 so I won’t worry about it. On the upside, it’s nice to see someone thinks the USA will last the next eighteen thousand years because I’m not sure we’ll make it through just the next three.

I don’t know about Belize, but, from what I hear, Costa Rica is a crap hole. Sorry.....

The problem with the PI is that once the threat of US intervention is truly gone (as it would be in the predicted collapse), the islamoscum from the south islands as well as from Indonesia will flood the zone and claim it all for the caliphate.

My cousin, who is a Dr, says that a lot of her colleagues are moving there. The ones that are over 55 are just going to retire once the UnAfforadble Deathcare Act is fully entrenched.

I have read that Costa Rica used to be nice but it has been invaded by ninnies who are recreating the hells they left behind.

I’ve been lots of places and seen a lot of beautiful places but the ONLY place to live for me is here in the US as painful as it can be at times. Not ready to deal with 2nd and 3rd world locations. Snotty ain’t I? LOL!

A US economic collapse will have global negative effects - and then you will become "that damned gringo" to your new Latin American neighbors. New Zealand is good, if your field of expertise is something they want. But I don't think there is any place in the world similar to the American West in the 19th Century for truly independent-minded pioneers to migrate to any more - unless you are ready to tackle the wild environments of Mongolia or Myanmar.
Better get to work on that backyard Mars Lander. :)
