Rosacea may be caused by mite faeces in your pores
New Scientist ^ | 9-30-2013 | Debora MacKenzie

There are tiny bugs closely related to spiders living in the pores of your face. They have long been considered mere passengers, doing no harm beyond upsetting the squeamish. But they may be causing an ancient skin disease that is estimated to affect between 5 and 20 per cent of people worldwide, and 16 million in the US alone.

People aged between 30 and 60, especially women, sometimes develop rosacea: red inflamed skin, with swelling, roughness and fine, visible blood vessels, usually in the central zone of the face. Severe cases can resemble acne, irritate the eyes and lead to the bulbous red nose seen in caricatures of the elderly.

The disease affects all races but is known as the "curse of the Celts" as it is thought to especially affect people with very fair skin, although it may simply be more visible on their skin.

BTW, do other nut hulls have the same or similar properties?

Hmm...pumpkin seeds, papaya seeds yes.

Ehhh....I don't know of any NUTS that do, however.

But Imma ruminate on that one, more, OK?

I don’t know what alternative antibiotics would be employed here. The article seemed to suggest another may be appropriate, though you might be cross sensitive to a similar class that would target this strain of bacteria. You’d have to check with your doc or pharmacist.

If you do, I can pass on what I learned and save you some time. Also, it involves distillation of alcohol - but it is legal! I even checked with the BATF and got a letter outlining manufacturing process vs beverage laws. Prosit!

Fortunately I don’t have Rosacea. At one time my doc thought I had it but ultimately diagnosed transient (and recurring) seborrheic dermatitis. A dab of triamcinolone on flare ups quickly tames it for a month or so. Repeat. And it is worse in extreme heat and under stress. Fortunately weather has turned a mite cooler. Also I will soon have free healthcare as Obama has promised and all my worries are over.

Topical cleocin (clindamycin) will clean it up often.
No need to ingest anything.

Things that exacerbate Rosacea, according to Dermatologists:
Exercise
Outdoor heat and sunlight
Sex
Laughing
Excitement
Alcohol
Chocolate
Caffeine
Spicy foods
In other words, if you want to avoid Rosacea, find a cold cave to live in, eat nothing but grains, be a hermit and read boring books by candlelight.

If the Rosacea is caused by the Demodectic mites, why isn't anyone using mitaban directly on the area? Works on dogs. It would only take a weekly treatment for six weeks to rid the body of them completely.

I believe some have alluded to something along those lines here. Is there a human safety issue that mite contraindicate mitaban or analogues?

Bullcrap!

Antibiotics destroy your immune system and hasten and exacerbate your next infection.
