71 percent of the 2,500 black students in APS who took the Mathematics II exam in 2011, failed and only 1 percent, 25 students, passed with distinction (Pass Plus). By contrast, only 21 percent of white students failed with 79 percent passing and 23 percent of those passing with distinction.
In Fulton County, where 62 percent of black students failed the Mathematics II exam, 90 percent of the white students passed, 32 percent with distinction. The failure rates and achievement gaps throughout most of the school districts in the metro-Atlanta area are astonishing.
The consequence of this reality is that black students are excluded from much of the STEM conversation and are nearly entirely excluded from the higher level STEM education discourse. For the incoming 2013 freshman class of first time full time freshmen at Georgia Tech, for example, there were only 61 applicants from the entire Atlanta Public School system, nearly 2,500 seniors. Of those 61 applicants, 26 were admitted and 15 have enrolled.
Despite APS being 79 percent black students, only 28 percent, or 17 applicants, of the total applicants from APS were black. Of those 17 applicants, only 1 black freshman was admitted.

The same place they are in Africa, taking advantage of the stupidity culture to live like NBA players.
They’re mostly playing college basketball and football on full rides or making millions playing pro because kids who graduated grow up and are also making good money — but not millions — keep watching them on TV or fill the stands on game days which allows the schools to give them those full rides and the pro teams to pay them millions.
BTW, while those grown up kids spend hours each week watching these other kids play with their balls, the country circles the drain.
That’s happened before. I believe the Romans called it “bread and circuses”.
Excuse all you want, but the IQ Test that counts is the one that leads to a good higher education.

The kids who acted as though they wanted to straighten up and get out of the ghetto mentality were harrassed by the others. I soon came to realize that the tough guys had to try to intimidate the others because that's all the authority they would ever have in their lives. When confronted with that fact, the "leaders" or tough group would get very upset and sometimes threaten me !!!!(big mistake) as we FORCED counseling on everyone and FORCED education on them, many got their GED's and actually became pretty nice kids. There would often be follow ups from them after they left the facility....VERY rewarding!!!

I.Q. and common sense do not necessarily go hand in hand...I have known and still do, people who are brilliant, but who I would not let baby sit my kids...
commen sense tells you what to do in a situation that requires a certain amount of thought process. I.Q. tells you how to build a bridge...common sense suggests that you use it to span a river.

Consider, however, HOW their ancestors were 'selected' for shipment: it was NOT for intelligence.
OTOH, people like to toss out the high performance of Asian students, and call it "cultural".
Again, consider that the Asian population, to a much greater extent, has SELF SELECTED for immigration for reasons of IMPROVING their lot; and to flee from persecution of intelligence and education. Naturally, cultural norms of valuing hard work and study apply to the Asian students, just as the opposite applies to a huge proportion of the black "students"; but the base mental material is very different.
I grew up believing it was 100% cultural.
My best guess now is that those who study such things are probably right, and though a good chunk of it is cultural a perhaps larger chunk is due to different genetic averages.
That doesn’t mean that much shouldn’t still be done on the cultural side, it only means that expecting totally equal results among different populations may not be realistic.
There is actually an inverse correlation between IQ and criminality.
Instead of blaming whites for everything....blacks need to take responsibility for their own actions
