Besides, Assad had nothing to gain by gassing them. By all accounts the rebels are fighting a losing battle and Assad is kicking their asses. Also, the rebels are murdering Christians and non-combatant Muslims while the Alawites (Assad’s troops) are tolerant and protect the minority populations from the Sunnis and Shia Muslims.

Yup. If Obama really cared about the use of chemical weapons, Assad would have been long dead by now. In fact, he would have been dead months ago when the first attack occurred.
