BELMAR – A New York City activist on a hunger strike in a Monmouth County jail after refusing to pay fines she received for baring her breasts on a Spring Lake beach, told a judge Thursday that she would rather die than settle up. “I refuse to pay a fine for an act that is legal for a man but is illegal for a woman,” 33-year-old artist Phoenix Feeley told Spring Lake Municipal Court Judge George Pappas via teleconference from the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township on Thursday morning.

I agree to a point. The law that requires women to wear a top would be better applied to the men I’ve seen on beaches. I was in Nice France last month and many women on the beach are topless. It’s really no big deal.

After considering all the evidence offered in this thread I will vote Not Guilty. The defendant has a nice smile and sense of life about her and $800 seems like an absurdly high fine. Let her out for time served!

Personally I don’t care how many women walk around with there shirts off, as long as I can pick and choose which ones stay covered. I would expect this woman to be a 32 A cup with saggy breasts, although her photo doesn’t show her breast and she is kinda pretty. Usually it is the ones with really crappy bodies that want to go around naked.
