In this tale of buried treasure, a small-town car dealership in Nebraska is the X that marks the spot.
A Chevrolet dealership that opened in 1946 and closed 17 years ago because its owners retired, will open its doors again to auction off the nearly 500 brand new and used Chevys from the 1950s, 60s and 70s that have been sitting undriven in the abandoned dealership building or off-site storage facilities for decades, messynessychic.com reports.
Although covered in a thick layer of dust and dirt, some of the classics still have manufacturer window stickers, plastic covering the seats and just a few miles on their odometers.

Nice, this has happened with bicycles before, which are boxed away, an automobile is a whole ‘nother deal. Interesting.
Very cool.
Could only happen in a small town in the mid-west.
Anywhere else - it would have looted long ago.
Saw that video on wimp or dump dot com ...lt was very interesting. Some of the cars had 1 mile on the odometer !!
Papers, stickers, floor mats still wrapped in paper etc ...
Didn’t see no 500 vehicles in the videos though.
Place is a time machine. Pen and paper was set down on desks and folks walked out.... Crazy.
I am sure there are warehouses.
Looters have been arrested and charge with felonies. The owners daughter is not making exceptions. Good for her!
Seems neat, but I have to wonder.
Why would all these cars be there? Wouldn’t they have to sell them or send them back, in the day? How could a dealer accumulate so many new cars that they didn’t sell?
She sure is proud of that ‘58 cameo with the smashed up top, isn’t she? Ok, so there’s only one mile on it but it’s still pretty damaged.
for later
Years ago, a friend in Buffalo bought an Indian motorcycle dealership. 24 brand new ones, and enough parts for 3-4 more
A Corvair with dual carbs!
Don’t tell Ralph Nader ...
That’s nothing! Easy fix. The truck is in great shape.
People sure are down on these cars. The comments on the article make me gag. Picky people. No real car person is concerned about a bunch of dust and a few rust or dents.
If a dealer closed the doors with a current inventory they would all be the same year. This video goes from 64 to 56.
Either the guy was putting away one or two cars from each year or the story is BS
The number was 50 last week...
Think the 500 in the text article is a typo as the woman narrating the video says (several times) 50 are going to be up for auction.
Poor mans Porsche!
Yeah whatever man, I know it’s easy to fix but she should have mentioned the huge dents in the top instead of acting like it was in mint condition because of the odometer reading.
Don’t ya’ think?
