I love sardines packed in mustard.
As a side note to sardines, King Oscar is also famous for his contribution to science in a roundabout way as the patron of one of the earlier scientific prizes for demonstrable contributions in the advancement of mathematics. There is fantastic book that I bought years ago called “Celestial Encounters” that describes the build-up to the discoveries of set theory and chaos theory and related mathematics discoveries.
I like them over pasta with maranara sauce.
And their Michigan cousins - Smelt
Cross pack! Hard to find anymore. KA’s still mighty tastey.
Love sardines
Tiny tots are my fav
With saltines and tobasco chased by cold beer
Heavenly!
I do not recommend if you get Gout attacks. They will give you one...I love anchovies on my Greek salads. I get them rolled up with a caper on the middle.
I don’t dislike sardines, but rarely eat them because I never seem to be in the mood for them. I think that would change if I knew the best ways to prepare and serve them, and which canneries put out the best ones. They were talking about this on the Food Channel a while back. I took notes and was all exited about trying them again but I let it slide and gradually lost my enthusiasm. Also doesn’t help that wifey hates most seafood. Calls lobster “giant sea cockroaches.”
We need to compile a preppers cook book.

and wild game.
Most definitely YES! Any way: oil, mustard, tobasco, with or without crackers...
Maybe it’s my Viking heritage?! :)
I like the Mediterranean Style (has a few black olive slices and a bit of crushed pimento). Giant Eagle has them, too. They just recently started restocking them. They kind of disappeared for a few years there.

Two layer, the best that there is!
Yes, but why do you ask? It is rather entertaining since so many people generally profane sardines as some kind of low class food stuff.
I prefer packed in chiles with olive oil or tomato sauce and chiles.
Best with whole wheat saltines.
No but I purchase them for my kitteh
When I was growing up my favorite snack was sardines, saltine crackers and a hot cup of tea. That would be black tea with sugar and evaporated milk. Yum!
Yes, in mustard. I might have a couple cans at home, that I always forget about. Do you think they are good for YEARS? Or not worth the risk?
I prefer cheese.
