Now I need to play that number (4132).

This news doesn’t surprise me. The people of China are little more than drones at this point, the smart ones having fled to America. These cyborgs undoubtedly function better with bureaucratic values than democratic values or captialist values, at least in their Maoist country. China could do with a good pull down the bathtub drain, if you ask me; the cyborgs had better hope that they are waterproof!

How was this mother able to give birth to 4 babies when they have laws against having more than one or two?

That would be quite a bit of trimming.

That policy is not enforced everywhere. Or maybe this family has some high ranking relatives.

She couldnt very well put the extras back. I can't help but thinking about all those mothers who have their menstrual cycles watched and noted. And if a baby is discovered that is not allowed, they get a forced abortion.
These boys are incredibly lucky to be alive.

China is filled with people, and many of them are brilliant - dare I say there are more "brilliant" ones in the field of science and engineering there, than in the United States. Take for example the fact that in the "old days," that is to say 20 years ago, new, cutting edge products that were manufactured in China were almost always engineered in the West. Not only is that not the case today, in many sectors the engineering and design aspects need to be handled there not because they "have" the engineering, design, machining and manufacturing people on tap, but because we DON'T! This is a bad thing, and I know there are plenty of exceptions, but in an increasing number of sectors, is the truth.

They way I understand it via my wife who is Chinese that it’s less a one child policy and more of a one birth policy. If a couple wants to have more than one child they go to a fertility clinic and have multiples. It may not be legal but it satisfies the one birth rule.
Later in this thread someone mentioned about certain areas having different rules for the number of kids. Yes, I have seen this in the countryside. Farmers can have more than one birth. They typically don’t burden the system because they are basically on their own. The more they can produce, the more the city folk can eat. It’s like 2 separate civilizations. On one hand you have people living like in any major city in the world. 30 minutes outside the city and they may not even speak Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) they plow the fields with an ox and a homemade plow. I’ve seem this several times in my travels. If civilization’s technology was wiped out, their lives would change little.
