BATH, Ohio (AP) — The childhood home of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer is for sale in northern Ohio. The three-bedroom, 2,170-square foot home on a private wooded lot in Bath, near Akron, was the site of Dahmer's first murder, in 1978. He moved to Wisconsin in 1982 and went on to kill 16 more people before his crimes were discovered in 1991. He was killed in prison in 1994 by a fellow inmate. Dahmer's parents bought the house in 1968, when he was 8. The current owner is musician Chris Butler, who was a founding member of the 1980s band The Waitresses. He told The Akron Beacon Journal that he listed the house because he no longer has reason to spend much time in the area. The asking price is $329,000.

if you like the Mid-Century Modern style as much as I do, you’d love it!

I really like the style but these days they are using it to describe any pos without a peeked roof.

“but these days they are using it to describe any pos without a peeked roof.”

That is true! And they use that term to describe kitsch trash that I wouldn’t have in my home! My taste in Mid-Century/Art Deco runs more along the lines of Breuer, Eames, and Kagan. “Form follows Function!”

I don’t believe in ghosts, so that wouldn’t bother me. I’d be more worried about the creepy tourist traffic. Who wants to answer the door on a Saturday morning to find serial killer groupies on their doorstep?

The Waitresses were my absolute favorite back in the day.

The Waitresses? Been awhile since I have thought of them. Actually loved their whole first LP and their Holiday single “Christmas (W)rapping.”

We lived in Bath Township from ‘65 - ‘78, about 2 1/2 miles from the Dahmer home. He killed his first victim in June, 1978 in the Bath Township home that is now for sale. That was just 2 months before we moved in August of ‘78 for a 3 year sojourn in Northern Ireland.

The realtor is really trying to move this place, even serving finger foods.

Yeah, when Chris wrote I know what boys like, Tin Huey played it at JB’s in Kent. I have a recording of that performance. I believe it is on the Tin Huey site.
