I think they need to have Jerry Doyle sub in for Rush sometime... it would be awesome!

Please do not presume to tell us what we do and do not like, as far as radio host substitutes and their style and political leanings. You have neither the personal knowledge nor the authority to do so on FR.

I think Steyn is by far, the best sub.
I wish Rush the best of health - always - but I'm sure it is the latter. As I often ask (and e-mail to Rush): Is Rush a powerful talk radio host who plays golf as a hobby, or is Rush a golfer who has a little radio show on the side as a hobby?
I understand Rush needing vacations like everyone else, but these constant unannounced "vacation days" (usually on Mondays and Fridays it seems) and "it's my once-a-year charity golf gig... sorry, folks!" days (happening several times each year) are infuriating.

I think he has to come to LA a lot for the House Institute, where he gets work done on his cochlear implant. It seems like a lot of his fellow conservatives he likes it here. Despite the crazy libs and angry illegals, if you ave $ it’s pretty fun.
But he can’t move here; the taxes would kill him.
I have no idea if he is really here. But that might be why he has to miss work.
Rush has gotten awfully boring over the last few years. He has become the Konstantin Chernenko of conservative talk radio.
I’d like to hear Larry Elder sub for Rush. He’s a libertarian-conservative, funny and smart. The Sage from South Central could make a great sub.
So, any suggestions for what host at what station to switch to when Davis is sitting in for Rush? I think Boortz is over at 1:00, and Dennis Miller is later in the afternoon.
LOL. Vickie a hostess? Vickie has at least 3 shows, plus all kinds of personal appearances. Vickie hosts the morning WISN (same station as Belling) talk show in Milwuakee. She also hosts a daily show in Madison -- different time slot. Recently she has started a show on the Western border of WI. She is hardly a "hostess" for mark Belling. More like a competitor.
Possibly you are correct. However, I once knew a man-now dead-who was successful and who was just like Rush in voice, mannerisms and golf. The man I am speaking of privately hated the very employment that produced his money.
It would probably put the show in too much
jeopardy of failing with James-at-the-mike.
He is too good a screener.
But, Mr Golden would probably be a hoot to

I tuned in to check the bandwith usage of the WABC stream -- and only listened for three minutes before I was fed up...

I turned the show off after 30 min of unengaged listening. I have emailed Rush many, many times about letting Snerdley host.

Try Tammy Bruce. You can listen to her on the Internet at tammybruce.com. Sometimes I listen to her even when Rush is on. I figure Rush is weaning his listeners by working a 4-day week anyway, so I'll start a new radio habit before Rush decides to drop it to a 3-day week. Anyway, Tammy is GOOD. Give her show a try.
