I called Mark Davis three years ago about the david letterman comment, about Sarah Palin, and guess who, defended david letterman, Mark Davis.

Mark Davis is a like a bowl of cornflakes without the milk.

Mark’s way of speaking is very milk-toasty. Always prefacing an answer with an apology. Really gets old. Just say what you believe, you’re not going to make those that don’t believe what you believe happy with your apologetic preface. They don’t want your apology for being conservative Mark, they want you to either shut up or agree with them.
Dammit grow some balls. He’s supposed to be in Texas, something down there ought to have done that by now.

I'd love to see Rush give Houston's Micheal Berry his big break.
Michael is just getting started on his syndicated program.
Michael's on target and a real hoot.
...even if he does go into a gay bar for cold beer.

I turned the radio off as soon as Johnny Donovan said “Mark Davis”.

Belling would do, though he sounds like he always has a stuffed nose or something.
One of the hostesses on his show, Vicki McKenna, is exceptional, and should be given a shot one of these days. She's like a conservative Ann Coulter, only quicker.

Mark Davis sucks! I will never understand why Rush tortures his listeners with Davis, while taking his many, many "vacation days" from the Golden EIB.
So is Rush a powerful radio talk show host who plays golf as a hobby, or is he a golfer who has a little radio show on the side as a hobby?? Grrr....

It is a shame that there are winners and losers. Some people aren’t suited for their chosen profession and Davis is one of them.
Bad choice Rush, bad decision EIB for your advertisers not nearly as many will hear their adds today. I’m one of of them who switched the show off in just a minute or two. It was pablum.
I expected to be hearing a bombast about oblablaloons very bad week, uncle joe’s continuing gaffs and the first gay boy president. Maybe that is what he eventually got to but I never gave it much of a chance since the delivery was so tepid.
To: jimfree
We may come across as immature to you—but a lot of us remember Mark from his long-running show in Dallas.
He spent eons of time talking about his wife who had contracted MS, I believe it was, and his daughter, Regina.
Well, I left Dallas and didn’t hear his program for years—but imagine my surprise to hear that he had married in the interim.
Does anyone know what happened to his first wirfe? Is she still alive?
The daughter must be grown and probably on her on these days.......

What happened to Mark Belling subbing? He did a good job.
To: stephenjohnbanker
I tried.
Once.
Didn't work. Generally I like Steyn and his humor if someone's going to sub for Rush.
We have had the good fortune of being able to listen to Rush most of his first hour since the early nineties, and never liked it as much when he was gone no matter who subbed for him.

I love your explanation of how he apologizes for everything he is about to say. It drives me NUTS!
I call it asides to his asides’ asides.
Here is my Mark Davis impersonation:
“if we want to know what Mitt Romney’s real positions are on the issues, and what I mean about his real positions are the positions the man actually holds in his heart, and I know you might say that mitt Romney doesn’t have a heart at all, putting his dog on the roof of his car, but that story may have been just a serious mistake Romney once made, and whom of us wishes to be judged on our worst mistake, I know I’ve made mistakes in my day that I’d certainly not like you to judge me on, because then I’d never be able to sub for the magnificent Rush, and how I am enjoying being with you here today,...”
