GODADDY pros and cons

1) They do NOT have a 1-800 #. If you do not have a long distance plan, you are screwed. (You’d think they could afford a 1-800# with the amount of money Danica Patrick makes for them)

2) Their tech support are AMERICANS. Unfortunately...if you are not a techie, they get frustrated quickly and make you feel like an idiot.

3) They sell you multiple crap that you don’t need.

BLUEHOST and HOSTGATOR are ok. They don’t get frustrated easily if we have tech questions and very affordable.

Free version not bad, no banners etc. I use a $5/mo. version that has lots of space but the free version isn’t bad if all you need is a simple site (250 MB disk space
6 GB bandwidth)

Whatever you do, keep the domain registration and hosting with separate companies. Otherwise they might lock you in to something you won’t like.

I have a WordPress site up on bluehost.com, and GoDaddy is the registrar.

I so agree with you. There is a generous spirit here that is absent in so many other places. It is refreshing to come here, ask a question and get so many thoughtful replies and so much useful information.
