Thank you, Pam. I remembered that graphic and poem from a couple of years ago and felt it was the perfect time to re-use it.

Marissa had a ball.

It is a little 3-day fair with a lot of community involvement. Local churches and organizations operate food booths. They have homemade pies and every kind of food imaginable.

We enjoy the school displays which features homegrown fruits and vegetables. There is also a building which features local art. School kids always enjoy this ... they all want to win the blue ribbon.

Two of my nieces were there with their families so I came home and left Marissa there with them. They didn’t bring her home until 11:00. I had a tough time staying awake. LOL

Good morning, Deo. Happy Monday.

Thank you for sharing that lovely graphic and “To Autumn”
by Keats.

I love autumn. It is always welcome after our hot summers.

I spend a lot of time making graphics for the Jerusalem Thread. Most of the time they only get used once. But since we are doing Psalms again, I have a chance to use some of them again! I enjoy seeing them again after over a year’s time.

"I spend a lot of time making graphics for the Jerusalem Thread."

And it shows, every day. Your graphics are wonderful, relate to the Word, your prayer is so inspirational each day, and you make sure to post a graphic to every poster. You're incredible! (And I don't know where you find the time, ML!)

Just want to say "THANK YOU" ((((HUGS))))

I haven’t made any new graphics for a few weeks. It seems that I have less time of late.

Your Jerusalem Thread graphics are wonderful, LTOS. You do a great job with that thread.

Amy, everytime I see your opening, I just love it! Your graphics to all of us are so personalized, and sweet!

You have enough on your mind - and I am surprised you manage to even come in and say ‘hi’ to us!

Which brings me to the ‘Fair’. Did you enter a pie - or a quilt? ((((HUGS))))

LOL

No, no pie or quilt. I should have entered one of Marissa's drawings.

When I was much younger, I worked the different food booths. The FHA, the Methodist Church, our High School Senior booth. It was always fun to decide what our menu should be .... beerocks, tacos, enchiladas, hamburgers, etc. It was also fun to work on our class float for the Saturday parade. I had a good childhood and am hoping for the same for Marissa.

May I suggest Sister ‘Knuckles’ O’Hara of the Order of Holy Bouncers and now head disciplinarian at the Congressional Intern Lodging Facility. (ever since she took over no Intern has had to dodge a Congressman!)

OMG, I used to fix beerocks (or bierocks)
for my family all the time!

I use Rhodes Texas frozen rolls.
Let them thaw out a little, roll out to about 7 or 8",
fill 1/2 with the cooked and drained hamburger, cabbage and onion mixture
seal the edges, brush with egg yolk, and bake.

The kids would eat them cold OR hot!

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

Johnn, I like the Rhodes Texas Rolls,
as they are about the right size for Bierocks:

I brown one pound of beef,
with a medium onion chopped
and one medium head of cabbage, chopped.

Drain and cool.

Roll out the thawed rolls to about 6" or 7",
Put a large spoonfull of the mixture in the center,
Fold dough around meat mixture
and bring to the top, and press excess dough together.

Place the pinched dough bottom down on greased cookie sheet
cover and let rise an hour or so
and bake at 350 until brown.
(Egg yolk brushed over the top, makes a beautiful golden brown crust.)

(Here are some pictures describing how a chef makes them. I don't add cheese or milk to my mixture, though.) Click
