LEXINGTON, Ky. -- A Lexington church is running out of cheeks to turn as copper thieves hit it for a third time.
Pastor Derek Coleman of Gardenside Baptist Church said its hurtful that people steal from a church thats willing to give to them, according to WKYT-TV.
This time, thieves stripped copper piping from a building the congregation uses for missionary work and allows other churches to use in time of need. Damage done by the thieves makes the building impossible to use until it is repaired.
The church is looking at new security measures after three copper thefts.

This country is sounding more like Haiti every day. When our troops went there to work “New Horizon” construction projects in the ‘90s, mere minutes after the ribbon-cutting on a newly built structure, the locals would tear into it and strip it out of anything of value.
That seems to be the direction America is heading, IMO.

Maybe inside job? Do they outsource maintenance or groundskeeping?
In Haiti there are many many people like this.
In America there are a few.
The title of the thread should be—” Slow Learners Suffer Consequences”
Use plastic in place of copper and STOP feeding and ‘helping’ the criminals who are robbing you.
I swear, this is like petting a lion while it takes a break from EATING you.
Charity does not( should not) = stupidity and suicide. There are parasites and EVIL people that NO amount of love and charity and help will change. This church, and others, should direct their funds and efforts toward people who are thankful and willing to change.
Switch to PEX. Problem solved.
If local code allows; anybody know?
ahh yes, this is true, but be patient, the tide is turning.
We are becoming more third world every day. Imagine ten years out. Hope I'm wrong, but I have to be realistic
Just a quick google search turned up results of Houstonians installing PEX without issue.
I won't EVER install copper again unless it was exposed to sunlight. I could run all the water lines in my house in a day with PEX and be done by noon AND it can freeze solid and not burst. Where I live, that's a big plus. We've had the PEX under our kitchen(exposed) freeze several times every winter and it's still working just fine. Every other year I would crawl under there and fix the frickin copper. The PEX has been maintenance free for 8 years now.
