"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!" President Bush
The big news of the day is the death and burial at sea of Osama bin Laden. Thank you, President Bush and the US military (including my son and future son-in-law) who made this day happen. Other news is the nuptials of William and Catherine in Great Britain. May God bless their union and draw them close to Him in Jesus Christ. Alabama (my state) and other southeast states continue the task of digging out and rebuilding. A massive effort is underway with able bodies and supplies needed.
It’s only about 4 minutes of effluvia and then Bibi starts in.
Daniels will not run! Excellent! If we could get rid of a few more RINOs and lightweights who are thinking of running, etc., we might have a chance.
Good morning! Good news to see upon waking up.
Life goes on here as well as with you....
My dad is 88 and longs to be released & be with my mom in Heaven....
...but he lingers ....and mostly sleeps a deep sleep.
I'm thankful for this, as when he's awake he thinks he sees mom and carries her picture around...
Our family is well enough....just surrendering to the aging process with body parts needing overhauls :)
Our granddaughter is the light and love....we thank God for her creation.
She already loves Him and read her devotional to me last night.
I still stand in amazement that this previoulsy tiny 2-1/2 lb baby grew up to be such a bright, sweet and loving little girl....thanks be to God.
...our son is now also happily married.....he waited for the right one...(met her in church)....God is good.
We press on....
Good Morning Everyone.
Just back from our trip and caught up from the 16th on We had a fruitful meeting and things will be done. Thank goodness. The weather was beautiful going and returning. We did run into a terrific rain and hail storm just outside of McKinney, TX and that slowed us down a bit, but we ran out of it and into better weather.
I just caught up on Bibi’s visit to our country. He is so right when he mentions our countries are very close and depend on oneanother. I completely agree with his statement of keeping their boundries as they stand now. I remember, how the Israelies were pounded prior to 1967. They showed the arab world they were made of tough stock and won that land for keeps. We, actually are the only country that will stand with Israel. We must NEVER forget without the Jews, our country would not exist. Were it not for Jesus, a Jew, Christianity would not exist. Were it not for Christianity, America would not have been founded on the Jewish/Christian principles.
Guenie, hopefully you Dad will receive his wish in time. Hard to believe JellyBean is 6, she is a love.
Jem, the next time you get a fireant bit, put a drop of clorax/purex on it. It will stop the itch and the blister. In fact clorax/purex works even with poison ivey and other insect bites.
Toby it’s good to see you back. You won’t believe how many bowls of grits Jem posted, for you.
Gotta get moving, Roomey just stirred from his slumbering, so it’s time to get the coffee going.
God is Great, and will return in His time, it will be a wonderful experience to fly Home.
On the 'rapture' - I can't believe that man trying to set a date for such a thing - particularly in light of biblical cautions.
Here's a couple:
'...that day (that Christ is at hand) shall not come except... that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition...sitting in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.' - 2Thes, 2.
and another: 'When you see the Abomination of Desolation... stand in the Holy Place... for then shall be great tribulation.... but of that day and hour knoweth no man, but my Father only.' - Mat, 24.
There is the scripture about being 'caught up' - from whence came the idea of a 'rapture' - 1Thes 4, 16-17.
Though I'd like to think there might be a reprieve for end-time Christians, I don't find an early (pre or mid tribulation) 'rapture' in scripture, though I've read about the topic for many years.
Lastly and perhaps most significantly, the Day of The Lord comes, '...when they shall say, Peace and safety' - and sometime after Satan's minion has made his claim to be God.
Now, think about Obama in that very role... he's arrogant enough to fit the bill, imho.

Yes. I agree with everything you wrote.
Good morning, Everybody! It is another gorgeous morning here in east central Alabama. We're expecting it to be a bit warm, a good day to lounge in the pool.
Prayers for those in the mid-west affected by the tornados.
Hawaii was US territory..Hawaiians were still citizens of this country,
It’s a nice thought.
Good morning everybody. Watching the terrible destruction and loss of live in Joplin on TWC, prayers for all affected.
We had a quiet night here, slept well and now have to get caught up on work-work. I expect more jammers will show up as the week progresses.
Have a great day folks.
It is good to have an “unstructured catch-up-on-work” day especially when it follows a good night’s sleep. I have Big sigh.
We’re shopping at a bridal salon this AM. The youngest is driving.
That sounds like fun. Is your back still giving you bad problems?
I KNEW I should have waited, had a very light breakfast this morning but at least I felf like eating, been down with the ‘low sick’ feeling these past couple of days. Gor me an infected eye too, I am like a old car, a creak here, a creak there.
News on Allie (grand daughter). Out of school for the summer but is busy as a bee with school matters. May I brag a little? She is an honor student, sings often at assemblies, takes care of pawpaw, cleaning my shack in the back every day. Got to admit, she is one good looking yong lasy too, phone rings off the hook for ‘hopefulls’ calling. A very good girl too, always has time for others.
News on the boys, wild as a buck 24-7 and pawpaws shack is their most favorite place to hang out. Of course we have a ‘open fridge’ ploicy here and I keep it well stocked for them (am me, my ‘cheating’ stash is in there too).
I am so glad to be back witk true friends, you all bring joy to this old heart.
Toby
This was a bad storm, so may people killed. We are in a double threat area here, hurricanes and tornados, so far so good but can change on a dime.
Toby
Reckon you saw that the death toll has reached 90 in Joplin, MO
I saw that and my heart breaks for them. It takes only an instant for the world to change permanently and it takes a long, long time to adjust to such tragedy.
Yes, my back is still giving me troubles, in varying degrees. I’ve gotten the doctor’s report from the MRI, but I have seen the radiologist report. the upshot, if I understood it correctly, is that in addition to the L5-S1 disk having its problems (which have been addressed and corrected), the L5-L4 disk has now ruptured. If that is the case, I’m going to look for the newer ways to treat it, even to the point of traveling through the Philippines. They seem to be the “go to” place for the latest techniques in spinal treatments.
Migraine is back. I’m drugged and heading for sleep, I hope.
Ain’t it a shame? If only...but maybe we can get him on a false SSnumber or barry soetoro this next time around.
Toby, you just don’t know how good it is to see you back. You were truly missed. As for the creaks and oh mys, it will pass. Hope you’re feeling better, now.
There is a Dr who does micro surgery for ruptured disks. I’ll ask my nephew his name and send it as soon as he answers. I watched the technique and there is very little invasion.
The Dr is in Florida. think, till, think.
There you are !!!!
>> I am like a old car, a creak here, a creak there
Guess they don’t have parts for a ‘42 Toby anymore, ‘eh?
Jem, you have an e-mail headed your way. till
Thank you for the links. I’m in the process of watching it now.
Php 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Php 1:22 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose.
Php 1:23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;
Php 1:24 yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake.
So, let me encourage you - and me - to continue doing the daily Christian disciplines, Reading the Scripture, Prayer, Telling others about Christ, Encouraging Christians to continue growing in the faith, until the day when God calls you home or until Christ returns. Do these things and the details of when the rapture occurs won't make a difference, you'll be prepared.
Morning Jem, you must be in pain.
Not really. I took the pills in anticipation of pain. I’m good now.
Good Morning. Tis a beautiful day in central Texas. Need to water my garden...again.
Hopefully the headache stays away, Jem. I cannot remember ever having a headache. My aunt had them, and she’d stay in the bedroom with the blinds down, and everyone tiptoed, she couldn’t stand any noise, it hurt her.
She was the "devout Roman Catholic" who encouraged her daughter to abuse our son because we didn't raise him in "the True Faith".
I bet she is around and I am so sorry for what Jack endured. There is a dred punishment for people who abuse and mislead children. I hope I didn’t sound like that; I only meant to encourage.
I’ve enjoyed reading of your building projects. I know that you just finished some recently. What are you working on now?
Good morning! Different problem, but my hubby recently had a disc replacement surgery. It went well, and he’s doing well. Now that he’s signed on to Medicare, there will not be another as they only pay for fusion.
Put me in the category with your aunt. I got hit with it Sunday, in the middle of a family get-together. And pain isn’t the only thing; migraines affect my digestive system as well. But “hit” is a good verb. One instant I was fine and within 30 seconds, the migraine was upon me. I was okay yesterday, kept the pain in the background, until we were almost through with the dress try-out. Then, wham-0, bam-o! No good for the rest of the day.
At this moment things are better. We’ll see how it progresses.
FYI, we did find a nice dress - three of them actually- but nothing that is great. So, on we go. We’ll head up to Atlanta sometime and look at consignment shops.
Outside, I finished the terracing around the dirt pile that holds the waterfall for the duck pond. Now, I need to build the chicken coop before our dozen pullet chicks outgrow the brooder. Then, I need to clear the space for the 10' by 20' platform for the permanent home of our Quonset shelter. After that, the retaining wall for the side parking pad next to the shop/carport. Oh, yes, and there is the second raised bed to build!
Once my shop is done, I have an entertainment center to design and build for the living room. I can't die for at least 30 years!
I hope your hubby doesn’t have another “back attack” that requires surgery. With this administration in place, I’m not surprised with anything being removed from medicare. I’m just hoping and praying 2012 puts a strong Conservative President in place, rid our house and senate of Rinos, and as many democrats as possible. I want some elected who represent the Americans who put them in place, elected who have the backbone and courage to stand up for Freedom and the American Idea. Men and women similar to the courage of Lt Col Allen West, now Congressman. No more Compasionate Conservatism. Speak out when wrong is done to America’s Ideas and Constitution. I’m just sick and tired of the willy-nilly speak so many of our rino elected spurt out, trying to make us think they are doing their best, when in fact they are playing up to the democrats.
While your designing your entertainment center, you’ll just be thinking, you can come here as I need some projects done,
I have plenty of room for you and family can stay in. lol.
/johnny
Prayers.
I’ve been thinking of you. Hopefully the winds and tornados have passed you by. If not, we have room for you, but not the cats, unless they have a cage.
AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
Last night I attached the face frame to the lathe cabinet carcass and installed the drawer slides and stained the side panels.
Tonight, after Jack's last high school band concert, I will start on the drawers. It will be so nice to spend an evening unpacking my lathe tools and materials and neatly putting them in the bench cabinet and wall cabinet! I have been living out of boxes since the breakup!
Good morning everybody. Prayers for all affected by these killer storms.
We had no storms where we are last night, there was a sl. chance. Another chance this afternoon and evening and then the forecast looks pretty wide open for several days.
There’s nowhere to go to in a bad storm where we are.
That, I think, it the scariest thing about these storms. You take what preparation you can and then, you wait. The waiting is easier when you can trust in God, knowing that even if "the worst" appears to happen, it is all part, somehow, of His sovereign plan. We are not at the mercies of an arbitrary dice thrower.
I think an indoor day is planned. I have several projects which need attention:
Of course, it won't all get done, but progress needs to be made.
Please check in to let us know how you are.
To all Englishmen:
I apologize.
GOOD MORNING!!!! Busy as a bee yesterday, donating to some of my doctors, getting some new medicines but hey, these old boys are keeping me alive, 75 and still alive.
GD out of school even if it feels as she is not, alays on the go and and am trying to find her a car to buy, lots of used cars out there but are all to many of high miliage on them. Coure trying to please a young grandchild is hard, sooner than later we will find her something.
got to tell all, it is so good to be able to talk to you.
My prayer are out for the storm victims, so terrible. Soon we will be looking for the hurricanes and it is suppose to be an active year. Told SIL last night we should start planning to build a underground storm shelter, on our place we have plenty of room to do so. I like the idea myself.
OK, off to the big house to see if I can find some fixed food.
Toby
I thought I had been hearing a cat meowing, it was the little one Caleb had locked in a cage, one thirsty, hungry cat. That boy is on go 24-7.
