I did indeed avoid the media, INCLUDING Fox, and kept up with the news via FR. There were many threads about Sarah Palin. I love what she is doing with this tour. She owes the media NOTHING!

Today has been kinda busy with household stuff. I’m resting my back ~ the recent MRI revealed that I have a second ruptured disk, so I’m being careful with that. I’m not looking for med treatment here in the US. I’m trying to treat it w/ back specific exercise, inversion therapy and if surgery is warranted, I’ll contact someone in the Philippines about disk replacement. I just threw this info in to explain why I’m resting it again.

We’re taking care of the youngest daughter’s goofy border collie. He’s a lot of fun, but has some quirks.

Oh! Of all those who have declared, Herman Cain is my man.

Good morning!

Another work week begun. I just love the tizzy following Sarah Palin as she visits landmarks in the Northeast. LOL! The press is whinning that she hasn’t told them her itinerary. Message to the LSM: why should she? She hasn’t announced for anything. She is a private citizen and last I knew we have freedom of association in this country. You fuss about her getting too much attention, so when the Palins behave like a family on vacation you fuss about that, too. ROTFLOL! You are irrelevant.

Those in Iowa and Missouri need to be aware of some interesting weather your way today and Illinois and Wisconsin need a heads-up, too.

Bibi Netanyahu was really good on Hannity last night. I wish he could be our president.

Good morning, all! I took Friday off and Barb (Officially the Missus as of two weeks ago last Friday!) loaded up the Tundra, took Alex the Border Collie and drove down to around Roanoke, VA to pick up her inventory that the woman in Tennessee had attempted to steal. Left Thursday late afternoon and got home Saturday evening at about 9:30. Fifteen hundred miles! I am getting too old to do that!

We got some thumbs up on the road for our new bumper sticker, "1-20-2013, The End of an Error!"

Lost another chick yesterday. She wasn't growing and just lingered a week or two. The rest of the "Ladies" are doing fine.

INDEED.

BIBI has heart and brains and mostly proper priorities, it seems to me.

You did that trip with a border collie? Oh my! I am impressed. The challenge, as I see it, with border collies, is to keep them occupied enough to keep them out of trouble. If they are don’t have something to do, they will think up something to do and it is usually not what you want them to do in the first place.

This morning my daughter’s b.c. didn’t return when I called. This was 0530 and I just had my robe on over my gown. I had to throw on some clothes and was grabbing the car keys, heading out the door when the rapscallion came bounding up, just full of himself. He is not getting off the leash with me ever again!

We once had a b.c./wolf mix. Great dog. However, when we came home from work once, he had managed to turn all the gas burners on the stove on. Fortunately, nothing was on the stove and nothing bad happened. Scared the bejebbers out of me, it did! Then, it was Christmas time. We did not want him to get into the presents. So, we put the presents on the top of the fridge. He was on top of the fridge, with a ribbon hanging out of his mouth when we came home that time. There would have been many more stories about him but he died early on of cancer. The short time we did know him was so eventful, he ranks among our “top dogs.”

Yes. Now, the more I’m hearing of Herman Cain, the better I like him. I read something today about his bout with cancer that indicates he has a solid walk with our Savior as well. Better and better.

Alex is unusually mellow for a BC. He is also a pretty good traveler.

Our Yellow Lab, Caesar seems to be recovering well from his surgery. He had a bad limp and they found a fibrous tumor on a nerve in the paw. They removed it and his limp is nearly gone.

We have five Indian Running Ducks that we got as ducklings in April. They are nearly full-sized and supposed to be Alex's "herd". They are real characters! Barb has been using a PVC pole to herd them into their cage at night. Sunday, she picked up the pole to get Caesar out of the pond and the ducks formed a line and marched smartly into their cage! She had to get a rake to get them out of the cage! Hillarious!

I was thinking that we might need to get something for Asa (the BC) to herd. However, we live in town and can’t have livestock. So, whatever is done, it has to be a “pet.”

I’m glad they figured out and removed that tumor. Asa limps from time to time but I think it is because he slids into everything. He’s only five months old and can be a bit awkward.

What a wonderful day. My back was so bad from the slip/fall that I actually went to the chiropractor today. I think he fixed what ailed me. First relief I've had in over a month, and not a pill in sight.

I am so glad. I have a friend who wants me to go to a chiropractor for my ruptured disk. I’m not sure about that.

I also heard back from the doc in FL who ordered my MRI. She wants me to go get a complete CBC because she is seeing some bone marrow anomolies.

Sorry. No. I show none of the symptoms AT ALL for leukemia and w/o clear knowledge of what they’re looking for, I won’t do it. I am really tired of being jerked around by the med profession. No! to more tests.

DO NOT go to a chiropractor for your ruptured disk. That rupture needs to be taken care of by a neurosurgeon - best outcome. If you fool around with an ortho and/or let a chiropractor mess around with your back, you will not have a good outcome. Trust me on this.

I had a ruptured disk many years ago - try 1966 - and didn’t do anything about it until I could no longer walk. Then a friends doctor put me in the hospital and called a neurosurgeon. The doctors thought I’d never walk again, but they did surgery hoping all would be well.

I’m walking and doing most of the things I did before. There are some restrictions, and I seldom have any pain from my back, so after 45 years I think they did a good job.

Take care.
