I figured out the liberal brain.

Posted on 03/27/2011 7:43:06 AM PDT by LouAvul

I could never understand how seemingly normal people could repeatedly vote for American hating socialists for president. (Carter, Clinton, Zero)

Then it dawned on me. They want to be assured they can be whores and whoremongers, conceive children, murder said children, then return to partying. They want faggots to be accepted as normal people in a normal lifestyle.

They don't care about the future of America. They care about their immorality.

And all this time I've been trying to reason with these people on the basis of logic. There's no reasoning with animals.

“Very perceptive. They just want to be comfortable in their sin. This is why they hate people who point it out or who fail to “celebrate” it.”

i would disagree a tiny bit. it’s more than them wanting to be comfortable in their sin. that want their sin to be accepted as good and right and THE WAY things should be. they reject the real way things should be. they want it their way.

another way i say this is that they want to be God, in that they want to define what is good and what is evil. they reject what God has defined as good or evil...they want THEIR definition to be THE definition.

imho, that’s what the 2 trees were all about.

just my 2¢

My analysis of the liberal mind is very simple:

“If it feels good, do it!”

There were several song's from the 1960’s that discussed this philosophy very clearly. Normal people realized the songs were fantasy, liberals thought they were reality. Even to day they still cling to their dream.

The problem lies in education. I've tried to reason with liberals and find that they believe just as passionately in their values as I do mine.

I think the cancer starts with teachers and media who feed liberal rubbish to people around the clock and those people are usually not inclined to dig a little deeper to educate themselves.

Thus, they accept what they are fed from what they consider to be a reliable source. The challenge for conservatives is how to break the cycle.
That's it in a nutshell. It's devilishly difficult to argue someone out of a position that they weren't argued into.
I had the occasion to defend conservatism once from two liberals - but I was amazed at how easily I allowed myself to be placed on the defensive when they challenged, "You probably think journalism isn't objective."

I made the blunder of giving examples of provable bias - and they just didn't want to hear it.

The correct response is, of course, to point out that the only way to attempt to be objective is to be open about any and all reasons why you might be tempted not to be objective. But doing that is the precise opposite of claiming to be objective.

Thus, we know that anyone who claims objectivity - or who fails to dissociate himself from any implication that his objectivity is to be taken for granted - isn't even trying to actually be objective.

Force a "liberal" to admit that that is precisely the standard they would apply to you, if you were the one claiming objectivity, and at least they would have to know that they cannot be open to facts and logic without surrendering their precious worldview.

Thanks for posting the link. Speaking of methods to change thinking, this video of the famous Milgram experiment (Part 1 of 3; the others are readily available on Youtube) is a frightening (and at the same time somewhat humorous) example:

The Asch Experiment also provides fascinating examples of group think.

Which is to say normal people didn’t realize the damage the mass media of their era did. And as a result what was once a majority of normal, decent people has become a minority clinging to hope that the next election will change things without realizing that real change can only come from elsewhere.

They are losers with low self esteem who are filled with envy of those who are better off than they are. They are so miserable that they hate their life, reality, achievers, and producers. They want something for nothing, the undeserved, and the unearned for themselves, and misery and suffering for the high achievers and producers. They have accepted a mentality of behaviorism and environmental determinism, and they blame society for their miserable condition. Then they hate society and want to destroy it by chasing the delusion of a vision of socialist utopia.

This is a good post; I have been mulling over the similar question of ‘Why are so many people eternal adolescents?’.

I began to wonder this when I would visit my family over Christmas, and as the youngest, feeling like the only adult in the room. The willing and easy clinging to ignorance (refusal to look at what I thought of as proof of my point), and the use of cliche to excuse the flaws in their thinking....it breaks my heart. We now stick to safe subjects like gardening.

Why am I different? In grade school, a teacher was teaching us about newspapers and the distribution of information. What stuck with me was when he pointed out how to read the article and see what wasn’t included. Being a meditative child who enjoyed reading, I quickly realized that almost every article avoided putting in some facts, and used emotional language to shape opinion.

I was about 10, and at that age a person needs to trust authority figures, to feel that they are in control and are honest. The realization that this unfairness was happening was horrifying.

Skimming the thread and read both of your comments

Both are spot on and I only wish more conservatives would take the time to understand the truly horrendous implications of the background information you referenced Even after 9-11 many liberals though shear horror had their kitten eyes opened for a moment Eventually the indocnation reclaimed their minds

Ronald Reagan had this one NAILED, IMHO.

“the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.”

As Baynative notes, “the cancer starts with teachers and media who feed liberal rubbish to people around the clock.”, and this feeds in to their sense of moral superiority. They just KNOW they are right about everything.

FACTS don’t enter in the equation because, well, they just “Care” so much, and dammit, they just COULDN’T be wrong...

http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/03/can_we_save_america.html

From an article on American Thinker today:

The current Ruling Class is predominantly made up of those active in various political movements in the 1960’s through the early 1980’s and is the most self-centered and egotistical generation in the history of the country. Having been raised in unfathomable prosperity and told how unique they were, many sought out political and social philosophies which aided and abetted their determination to justify a hedonistic lifestyle, eliminate any ethical or behavioral absolutes and solidify their need for power and notoriety.

Ever since Freud and Pavlov, KGB have been doing extensive testing and creating programs for mind control. That knowledge was used by Hitler’s Henchmen in the 30’s and much of the information he got from (fabian socialists) elites in American universities.

Thanks so much for your link....heard of MUCH but not that....

“The easiest way to do this is to rationalize behavior and erase any distinction between “right” and “wrong”.
(Best accomplished via moral relativism)”

This is partially true, but I’ve found that rationalization can’t completely resolve that guilt, it just compartmentalizes it. I think this is one of the MAJOR causes for neuroses and other psychological problems, since people are just sublimating issues and never resolving them. The rational mind will revolt against that, or descend into further irrationality.

The obsession with sex and the fear of having anyone condemn them to horniness may be a motivating factor for some liberals. Others are simply good, sweet, incredibly naive people who have very little experience with the harsh facts of life. I know some religious liberals like this. Peace, love, flower power, group hugs, etc. No reality contact whatsoever. It’s difficult to awaken them from their dream.

On a related note when I went to college in the 70’s it was required that we take propaganda analysis so we wouldn't trust the “man”. Interestestingly that course is no longer required.
