WASHINGTON (AFP) Nearly two-thirds of US Internet users have paid to download or access online content such as music, movies or news articles, a survey showed Thursday.

In the survey, 33 percent of Internet users have paid for digital music online or software; 21 percent for apps for cell phones or tablet computers; 19 percent for digital games; 18 percent for digital newspaper, magazine, or journal articles; 16 percent for videos, movies, or TV shows: and 15 percent for ringtones.

And the other third are using bittorrent and getting it for free.
Guess I don’t fit into any of the three “thirds”.
Pretty much have to pay for anything worthwhile. Especially since the whiny ba$tards threw a fit over music file sharing. And are prosecuting.
Happy New Year Decimon
No, they didn't mention porn. ;-)
And to you, Fred.
It's starting well here, with pleasant weather.
In the survey, 66 percent of Internet users haven't paid for digital music online or software; 79 percent haven't paid for apps for cell phones or tablet computers; 71 percent haven't paid for digital games; 82 percent haven't paid for digital newspaper, magazine, or journal articles; 84 percent haven't paid for videos, movies, or TV shows: and 85 percent haven't paid for ringtones.
I know I haven't...
It is -10 degrees here. Oh wait, it warmed up. Says it is only -9.4 now.
At least the wind isn’t blowing. Too much.
ROFL
Hate to think of that. In southern New York we had a colder than average December but January is so far looking like it will be milder than average.
We’ve had more snow and colder temps this year than the past few years.
But it has been a lot colder. Too cold for cars to start. Even with a pan of burning diesel fuel placed under the oil pan to try to warm it up.
We did have one year where it was so cold the birds were falling out of trees froze dead.
But I have a wood stove and it is cranked. It is nice penetrating heat.
The only bad part is I have to smoke outside. It is 80 degrees in the house. -10 outside. Facing that 90 degree difference just for a drag is, well, stupid.
Don’t use them, don’t pay for them; however, I do pay for websites that have special benefits/memberships such as sewing websites. I’d have to be might desperate to pay for news.
Uhhh...okay.
Years ago I had a dipstick heater to warm the oil. Guess those were outlawed cuz they disappeared.
Paying to download the newest pop song I can hear on Z-103 18 times a day ain't gonna cut it.
Happy New Year, Chode!
Never did it myself. But I seen it done.
Most newer cars will start.
But poor people have poor ways.
I have put my car battery in my (heated) shed before (over the weekend) to keep it from freezing.
I have a heater in my lower radiator hose in my ‘86 Dodge pickup. But it’s up at my brother’s and I doubt he cares enough to plug it in.
Up in North Dakota we had engine block heaters installed (they replaced one of the freeze plugs) and had an electric battery heater. I also put in a trickle charger.
Without those items you probably would never get the engine to turn over.
