Whatever happened to those big whopping hobbit threads on FreeRepublic? Seems like they had like 18-20,000 posts.
I could never figure out what the heck it was all about.
Best regards,

The Brits have always been famous for their miniatures. For being detail-oriented in general. Compare any of their enthusiast magazines on any subject, such as photography, chess, computing, aviation...whatever, to their American counterparts. The UK versions are three times longer and have ten times as much good, relevant content.

I did not know that. Just finished reading a DK book on farming and gardening, and came through with the disticnt impression that the authors were trying to get the readers to become good tenant farmers for the king. Discussed mostly not using any hydrocarbon emitting engines.

Whatever happened to those big whopping hobbit threads on FreeRepublic? They're still going on. We're on Thread 38, but they're just not as large these days. We might get more talkative when the movie, The Hobbit is released.

Americans can do miniatures too, the best of us do miniatures BIG, though

I remember seeing color photos of G&D rolling stock... I was blown away by the realistic weathering.
