Nuclear Physicist Describes Vast UFO Cover-Up
aolnews ^ | 6-7 | Lee Speigel

Posted on 06/07/2010 1:39:25 PM PDT by JoeProBono

"Some UFOs are intelligently controlled extraterrestrial spacecraft, and this is the biggest story of the millennium."

These words are not the rantings of a deranged individual looking for attention or a comfortable straitjacket. Stanton Friedman is a maverick of sorts.

Employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist for companies like General Electric, General Motors, Westinghouse and Aerojet General Nucleonics, he worked on highly classified programs involving nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets.

In 1958, UFOs caught his attention, and Friedman has since lectured about this subject at more than 700 colleges and professional groups in all 50 states and around the world.

Nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman has devoted more than 50 years to pursuing the scientific truth of UFOs, and was the original civilian investigator of the legendary 1947 Roswell, N.M., incident. "After 53 years of investigation, I'm convinced we're dealing here with a cosmic Watergate," he told AOL News. "That means a few people within major governments have known since at least 1947 that some UFOs are alien spacecraft."

In Friedman's new book, "Science Was Wrong," co-authored with Kathleen Marden, he wrote, "There's been no shortage of strong, negative proclamations from debunking groups and individuals who refuse to examine the evidence ... to support the notion that some UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin."

Friedman cites many cases of UFO encounters experienced by competent, reliable eyewitnesses, including one involving Japan Airlines.

Courtesy of Stanton Friedman One of the most credible sightings of a UFO in history is from a series of images taken aboard the Brazilian ship Almirante Saldanha on Jan. 16, 1958. The Saturn-shaped object was witnessed by the ship's crew and several scientists. The UFO approached the island, making a steep turn before flying away quickly. Juscelino Kubitschek, then president of Brazil, confirmed the authenticity of the photos. "A 747 over Alaska encountered something that was twice the size of an aircraft carrier, that flew circles around the jet. They reported it to the ground, where both the UFO and the 747 were picked up on radar.

"The explanation from debunkers was that it was Jupiter! Boy, airplane radar can pick up Jupiter? It was totally ludicrous. You're fighting the forces of 'evil,' one might say -- arrogance and ignorance."

While some scientists through the years have quietly suggested Earth has been visited by ETs, Friedman is the most outspoken. He's especially irked by the attitude of scientists who use radio and optical telescopes in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, such as the SETI Institute in California.

"Their livelihood depends on the assumption that there's nobody coming here, and if we just wait long enough, we're going to pick up the signal and it'll be the greatest discovery in man's history, and it will help solve all our problems.

"What really bothers me is that the SETI people will tell you there is no evidence for UFOs. Well, they certainly don't reference any, so there must not be, right? Wrong!"

If so, why would reputable scientists refuse to consider that Earth may be a vacation spot for otherworldly travelers?

"Because they'd have to admit that they'd ignored such a big story for so long and that they were wrong," Friedman said. "Being wrong is something that scientists don't like to admit at all........."

WRONG.

There’s more than 3,000

landing cases wherein tangible evidence has been scientifically examined very rigorously

I forget the name of the head of the team doing all that work. Very fine group. I’ve posted it on some such threads as these.

You’re very WRONG.

The projects he got transferred to got canceled one after another. Quite an experience for him.

Probably just a coincidence that project, after project, after project, after project that he became involved in got canceled, I'm sure.

Guess he does not pick projects very well does he?

I’m not completely jaded on the subject, by the way. I know a couple people I trust who have seen strange things. One showed me pictures of something she saw zig-zagging over the ocean at night. They were only smears, however, and not much to make much out. Another said she used to go out to this spot at night with someone else near a military base and would see weird flying things, until she started getting harrassed by government-types and stopped. They were both co-workers and not the type to make stuff up.

Myself, I was out looking at the stars with my brother as we sometimes did back then, and he noticed that a star, previously stationary we thought, was now moving, not fast but steadily. Too bright to be a sattelite, I aimed the binoculars and clearly saw a triangular shape taking up the whole viewing angle (binoculars amplify light). Either it was close, or it was big. The star-like light was near one edge. I passed the binos and my brother who described the same thing. It went right overhead, and the silence was unnerving. There wasn’t even any wind. It might have been some secret government thing, but other than that I have no explanation.

This is a few years old, and several of the photos have been moved, (expect to see a lot of red X boxes), but UFO’s were photographed over Cleveland, the photo’s were taken by the Olmsted Falls Police photographer in October 2004, (very near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport), are mostly on page 215, see the below photo and a link to the series of photos.

Those are some significant photo’s. Have you ever shared those with anybody before? I’ve never seen them.

Good Morning Dog, actually this is the first time I've shared them with anyone besides family, in my then-teenage mind I thought they might be 'something' approaching significant but when I saw far better pictures here and there, I just put these three pics in a box, box into a drawer, you know how that works, lol

Yes...black ops.

But whose black ops...are they even human (not saying they are from another planet!)?

These operations have been going on for a far back as human memory reaches...and, at least in modern history, the same kinds of methods (sampling, examination, collection, etc.) focusing on the same sexual and reproductive issues, particular interbreeding between us and them.

The question arise...are the memories recalled under hypnosis (in most cases) real or are they themselves covers for other events/memories.

For example, are "abductees" memories of a sexual goings-on actually cover stories for other, completely different sequences of events that such operators want hidden.

Sexual events would create a very clever psychological "lid" behind which other activities might be hidden. Why sexual? Because human sexuality triggers powerful emotion responses (shame, desire, obssession, etc) which would, if needed, provide an effective shield for things such "operators" would want to hide (i.e. humans involved would bury these events behind potentially painful memories).

And while we're on the subject, the whole "alien" thing too would be an effective shield/front (too scary to ponder consciously, too embarrassing to share with others).

Bottom line: I'm not suggesting who is behind this phenomena here (though I have a theory). I am just raising issues to add to the developing conversation.

As an aside, I remember that in the Epic of Gilgamesh, there are stories which parallel the Old Testament. For example (and I find this odd as h$ll), it said that the gods (those beings which spoke to man through auditory hallucinations) left the earth for the safety of the heavens (whatever that means) at the time of the flood.

Here is the interpretation of Alexander Heidel (The Gilgamesh Epic and Old Testament Parallels, U. of Chicago Press, 1949)...

Even the gods were terror-striken at the deluge (great flood). They fled and ascended to the heaven of Anu.

The question arises, who were these "gods" and why were they terrified of the Great Flood? There must have been more to the Flood than meets the eye. I mean even more than the vast expanse of tainted human bloodlines eliminated by the Flood (tainted by interbreeding of human women with the "Sons of God," whatever the heck that was--refer to Genesis, Enoch, and elsewhere).

Note that Anu is the Mesopotamian god of the air/sky. Anu is not the Jewish God, Elohim.

It is strange that the name/word Beelezebub (Baal Zebub) means "Lord of the Flies" or "Lord of the Air" or "Lord of things that Fly").

And Satan is called (in Ephesians 2:2) the "prince of the power of the air."

One wonders if the "gods" who were terrified of the Great Flood were running home to Satan/Lucifer?

BWAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA!!!!!

This guy believes that aliens are visiting our planet in flying saucers and you claim that he is not delusional???

Psychology is a pseudo-science. A truly deranged person can fool a psychologist, particularly if they are more intelligent than the psychologist, which is fairly common. Two fully qualified psychologists can declare the same person insane and fully competent, as frequently occurs in the criminal justice system.

Go peddle you Gak to the more gullible.

Carl Sagan was right when he said:
"The reliable cases are uninteresting and the interesting cases are unreliable"
He was also correct when he said the following in Demon Haunted World:
"There are no cases – despite well over a million UFO reports since 1947 – in which something so strange that it could only be an extraterrestrial spacecraft is reported so reliably that misapprehension, hoax or hallucination can be reliably excluded.”
And in the Varieties of Scientific Experience, where he says:
“It is remarkable that in all these million cases there is not one example of physical evidence that sustains even the most casual scrutiny. No pieces of spacecraft chipped off with a penknife and put into an envelope and carried back for laboratory examination of exotic alloys. No photograph of the interior of the spacecraft or the extraterrestrials, or a page from the captain’s logbook. Somehow, in all of these cases, there is not a single example of concrete physical evidence. And that again is suggestive, I maintain, that we are dealing with some combination of psychopathology and conscious fraud and the misapprehension of natural phenomena, but not what is alleged by those who see UFOs.”

Thanks for your narrative.

Some share boldly as you, thankfully, did.

How many nuclear design projects were there in an era of shrinking budgets? I don’t know how much choice he had.

IIRC, he worked on 17 different projects over 20 years or so. He was mostly involved in shrinking the nuclear power plants. IIRC one of the photos he showed was of a plant that would run a large city & fit on semi.

Evidently you haven’t met the guy.
You haven’t talked with him a dozen times or more.

I have.

“Even if I had personally seen what I thought was evidence I wouldn’t be entirely convinced due to my own human fallibility. Major Jesse Marcel Sr. and his son Jesse Marcel Jr. both honestly thought they saw evidence at Roswell in 1947, and it is clear to me in retrospect they were both honestly mistaken.”

Well, you don’t seem to have a problem making conclusions about things YOU weren’t around...

Maybe they are teenagers, and instead of cow-tipping they prefer to freak out ranchers by mutilating the cows... I’ll bet they grow up to be mass murderers in their home world! ;-)

Or, perhaps they are alien med students, and cows are the closest thing to their alien structure, and to use corpses is illegal (akin to the grave robbers in the early days of medical schools).

/light-hearted joking (in case that was necessary)

I certainly believe there is ‘something’ out there. However, I’m not firmly in any ‘camp’ as far as what I believe about the possible existence of extra-terrestrial life. I’m rather open to the possibilities as I know there are things which man - no matter how hard we try - cannot explain... At least not currently.

I’m also aware of the Quantum Physics experiments that seem to prove a ‘multiverse’. That in itself is quite interesting, and could eventually provide an explanation to some of these cases, IMHO.

“Well, you don’t seem to have a problem making conclusions about things YOU weren’t around...”

Of course I had a problem. It took me a lot of time and a lot of reading. And in addition Dr Jesse Marcel Jr. is a man of very impressive accomplishments, who I would normally be inclined to believe. It was a real eye-opener to me to finally realize that he and his father were quite mistaken. We are all capable of self-delusion under the right circumstances.

It’s been fairly convincingly documented that Sagan was a paid government shill/debunker

BTW, even most pastors can readily detect craziness as a number of research studies have docmented.

Raging narrow minded haughty blind bias is a poor foudation for discovery or truth.

And in my experience on such threads, ignorant jerks are rarely attractive.

You of course are free to disagree however for a Physicist to ignore basic physics seems to invalidate most of what he is saying.

Most UFO’s are military aircraft and the rest are just unexplained observations.
