I’ve seen pics of this syndrome on the local news.
I don’t think all those people are victims of mass hysteria.

Doesn’t a “pandemic” have to affect more than a handful of people, relative to the whole population?

I've been hearing about this for years. It may be true but I'm not convinced. I don't believe a medical professional would diagnose worms and bugs crawling out of someones skin as an emotional disorder.

LOL - From the article: "symptoms such as theirs are treated as delusions they are reluctant to seek further medical attention and tend to withdraw from society with their only contact with others being through the internet. They begin living the lifestyle of the leper most posters on DU".

Yep it’s for real. In the last couple years, this has been discussed on radio (yes late night) and also on Discovery Health. Seems to be a legit new creepy disease.

I’ve been reading articles on this disease for years. It has gone from a few folks (called looney) to more and more. The more attention on this disease the better. The chances of nationalized medicine doing anything about this is zero, I’m afraid.

Weird stuff.
I’ve heard of this. Read some stories on it over the past several years.
I feel for those who have it. Do some searches on the internet and check out some personal stories, and photos. It will blow your mind.

Eventually a variety of bugs and worms begin to find their way out of the body through the lesions. Has no one ever collected a sample of these little beasties for an entomologist to examine? Surely that would provide some sort of clue as to the pathology of the disease.
