Would anyone else like to see this poll reworded to reflect current events and reposted?
* Yes
* No
* Zot the troll called Tarpaulin
Yes - Let's Roll!
Yes and Zot the Tarp just for principle.
And just a little zot for fun. :)
fine idea
New poll.
By the vye, where is the first poll?
First poll here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/poll?poll=43;results=1
Well,'till it shows up at the top of FRs' sidebar it's a non poll.
I guess I'll have to go with......
Zot The Troll!
(Nothing personal, ya understand)
J
He's not worth wasting your valuable time on.
Where's the cigar?
Unggggggggggggggggh.
What, again?
Everyone knows tarp is merely a covering for that sensitive stuff which lies beneath.
Like hay or equipment you won't be using this month.
Hmmm......
I believe you have me confused with FReeper Fintan. He always has the cigar included in his posts.
Here is a good example
J
I'm here at the computer instead of watching him on FNC right now, so I'm not his biggest fan. But I'm not interested in eating our own.
Thanks, I was just looking around for that. (Don't ask me what FReepers came to mind)
I knew I made a mistake as soon as I pressed the [Post]
Ditto Tarp
Shore. Poll away.
You may be like me. I like Sean on sticking to these dummies, but when debating the other side, I get sick and tired on the pure nonsense they spout. Therefore, I don't like watching the program. Sean would do better in another format on Fox.
1 if by day
2 if by night
Sean in an O'Reilly format would be interesting, but I'd like to see him in more of a roundtable discussion like PBS has with all their liberals and fake conservatives.
ZOT! :^D
But it's only 3 hours a day. Plus one at night. Plus the time I spend playing with my Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren action figures.
I agree we ARE on the same side, and rarely disagree with him. BUT when he opens his mouth spouting this type of stuff to millions of people, he is indeed doing what he said FR was doing. He is NOT helping the credibility of FR with this statement. So, I agree with his politics but question his judgement running his mouth about one of the strongest allies he could hope to have.
I thought the Sean doll got kicked out of the house after it looked up the dress of the Coulter doll?
I would answer, "Yes, but I'll stick around anyway." I mean, come on, y'all KNOW that he's right to a great degree. There are some people on this forum that are mean-spirited, insensitive, bully-type jerks, that seriously appear to suffer from some type of neurosis. When I first joined (under a different monicker) in '99 and was new to forums of any kind, I couldn't believe how people here spoke to each other, and I'm not talking about tempers flaring in the heat of good debate; I'm talking about completely trivial, petty situations. It's like some people are insanely ANGRY at the world, and they just write anything they feel like just because we aren't face to face. More recently, I got on a thread about the so-called "assault weapons" ban, and since I know NOTHING---zero---about firearms, I asked some questions in order to learn. Several FReepers attacked me, said the questions I asked were stupid and I must be either an idiot or a troll, and basically told me to scram. After all these years, I knew not to be intimidated by a few jerks. A couple or three years ago, I liked to post on a Christian thread--- a debate between protestants and catholics. I quit after a couple of months because a few of the people (supposedly Christians--- I won't mention which SIDE of the debate they were on!) were just plain mean and hateful.
One of my best friends, a college professor, who would be an asset to FR (like so MANY others of you are), never posts although he is a member here. He doesn't like the personal attacks between posters, and that's the only reason he doesn't post. He just reads some of the articles.
Sometimes I just wish people who are supposed to be allies (we're all conservatives, right? We're on the same side) would just grow UP!
Anyway, this is why I can't really find much fault with Sean's accusation. I guess I've just learned to ignore a lot of what is said and gravitate to the really GOOD people I've met here.
Hannity is a blood-sucker of Rush. Hannity's grammar is horrific. I have listened to Hannity for years, just trying to listen for Mark Levin, and other thinking guests. The jerk cannot even figure out how to dress.
Where is the poll selection for "Enough with Hannity already"?
----
yes

" Sean Hannity recently expressed on the air that something like 80% of the FReepers now hate him." -- I do not know if he actually said that, I copied it from the top of the thread. But if he did, I wonder why he feels the need to use the word "hate". (I read over 1000 posts from FReepers about him, and honestly I don't see that anyone "hates" him.)
After his original petty and unproductive comments about FR the other day, "fringe people" etc., nearly all the posts about his unusual behavior that day in knocking FR in order to promote his site, nearly all FReeper remarks were meant as constructive criticism. He uses the word "hate". I think that is not applicable.
Most of us would just like to see him use his media position in a more efficient way. His debating skills are poor, his a self-promotion in never-ending, and he is way too forgiving to weak liberal advocates. We all really just want him to do better, because his time on the air is really "our" time.
When Hillary runs in 2008, we are going to need all guns firing well. He has to improve or move over and give someone else a chance.
Sean did a great deal to help get G.W. elected in 2004. We just want him to do the right thing in the future, and do it a little better. (imo)
That was unneccessary and an example of the meanspirited personal attacks we should stop.
Don't listen if you don't like him..There is no point in personal atttacks on one of our own even if he is not your cup of tea.
Move over? Give someone else a chance?..There are other conservative voices on radio..give them a listen.
Hannity has a lot of listeners and you want him to "resign?" Use your remote!
It's a free country!
No, I would just like him to come to debate more prepared after doing more homework. I'm just wishing he wouldn't let the libs slide as much as he does.
But, I guess that's one of the reasons he is able to get them to talk to him in the first place.
;-)
When was this survey taken? Didn't see anything yesterday here at FR.
Me neither. What's up?
What he's doing is staining a conservative blog... and bloggers in general. We are what we are... warts and all.
In case you haven't noticed, it's this site(a few others) and Rush, Ingraham and FOXNews that gets the conservative voice out there... that's IT. When he says we feed on our own... he's really 'feeding' on US!
He's a Judas... a sanctimonious sellout.
No reason for him to single out FR... except to distance himself from conservative blogs... like O'Really did.
IMO, he's dung.
I did not like it, think it was wrong and said so..I was angry..but I have seen the personal insults to Hannity here and consider those also intemperate..
He has way too many supporters here to have gone off on us like that, I called his statement pretentious and self promoting.. but I would hope some who consider it clever to personally insult those on our side will desist and go after substance and content.
I turn off things I don't like. There are other talkshows to listen to. I wish the knee jerk insulters would switch dials and get over his style.
We do eat our own here..and he was guilty of the same thing, too.
.
This is coming from someone who has been around here almost from the beginning. I was here when the main topic was Whitewater and you could read all the daily posts in a single sitting. I was at the March for Justice rally and I stood outside the VP Mansion, shouting for Gore to GET OUT OF Chaney's HOUSE. When I first signed on to Free Republic everyone made you feel welcomed. People were very friendly and more then willing to help a Newbee learn the ropes. Newbees didn't get the response to their first post, Member since ...?, as if their motives for posting were suspect.
There are people on Free Republic who have that eat your own mentality. They are way to quick launch an attack on someone who makes a mistake in posting or says something they don't agree with. I even sent Jim Rob an E- mail a few years ago complaining about the very things that Sean was talking about yesterday.
I believe we here at Free Republic should take what Sean said to heart. Free Republic has proved to be a powerful force, that has and can continue to bring needed change to this country and hopefully help keep Hilary out of the WH.
In order to win the hearts and mind of others, we need to respect them as people, even if don't agree with everything they have say.
I think you're missing the point. Hannity just pee'd on our leg... he dissed FR, which in turn disses ALL conservative blogs. Salty language and a few whack-jobs doesn't need a public denouncement by a person who has a million listeners... and viewers. Make no mistake, it's a spear aimed at the heart of 'new media'.
It's as if a family member took out an ad about how revolting his brother or sister was. It... it stinks.
Didn't Sean say FReepers "eat their own"?
Didn't he, basicly, do the same thing two days ago?
He's a real FReeper!
I vote Taco!
I guess I'm going to have to break down and find out what's all the fuss about Hannity. I get the impression he said something on his show about FR, and it wasn't very flattering.
Hannity is a bit of eye candy for the ladies and a competent front man for the Republican party; he's got all the talking points down pat. Maybe it's his looks or something but I sort of feel that he's something of a lightweight intellectually and ideologically.
:)
-good times, G.J.P.(Jr.)
