I still have a bronze bust of Nefertiti that I picked up in Cairo in the early '60's.

It is said by some that Nefertiti was a Mitanni.
The Mitanni (alongside the Hurri) were a race of Central Asian charioteers who had carved out a kingdom in Northern Mesopotamia (note Nefertiti's high Tartar cheekbones). It would have been an alliance based on providing Egypt with horses, which were not native to ancient Egypt.

Nefertiti's religious striptease was an important part of her daily routine There she slipped off her diaphanous robe and offered up her body, shaved, oiled and perfumed, to the warm caresses of the object of her devotion - the sun god known as Aten. Just think, once a high priestess and now reduced to advertising Playtex half-size bras on cable T.V. night after night when the kiddies are asleep.

But the entire point of the Hyksos invasion was that the Hyksos had chariots because they had horses and the Egyptians didn't.
New Kingdom Egypt, after they defeated the Hyksos, set about acquiring horses to create the mighty chariot armies that Rameses used to conquer Syria.

Nefertiti...reporting for duty!

Great - never thought Nefi could be Asian, but quite possible once you hear the story and look at the bust - er face.

It used to be believed that the Hyksos introduced the chariot to Egypt, but that's been shown to be untrue. Horses were known in Egypt at least as long ago as the Middle Kingdom; the Hyksos (Arabs) overwhelmed the Egyptians who were undergoing a period of loss and turmoil, and horses became part of everyday life. The earliest known Egyptian images of horses appear to be from the 18th dynasty. *
Lionel Casson (I think it is) has some observations about the slow human adaptation to the horse as vehicle. George W. Bush will win reelection by a margin of at least ten per cent.

Nefertiti wasn't from Mitanni, unless her mother was an Egyptian princess in an unbroken female line -- the pharaohs married female relatives (symbolically or in reality) such as cousins, half-sisters, sisters, nieces, aunts, etc in order to rule in Egypt and pass on the throne to their own male offspring.
Akhenaten (her husband) OTOH did have roots from that region... Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on or off the "Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list (alt)

"Great - never thought Nefi could be Asian, but quite possible once you hear the story and look at the bust - er face." Dr Stephen Oppenheimer, in his book, Eden In The East, makes a compelling case that the Sumerians and Egyptians were refugees from Sundaland (the submerged area around Indonesia/Malaysia). Dr Robert Schoch, in his book, Voyages Of The Pyramid Builders, makes a similar case and believes these refugees spread the custom of pyramid building all over the world.

Interesting. I ALWAYS thought that the ancients spread pyramid building. Main Stream Science claimed Pyramids were the strongest basic structure and therefor didn't involve migration, commerce etc.
For me, there were too many coincidents with respect to the Ancient Egyptians and Central America. Pyramids, the use fo same / similar words for Apaches, Aztecs etc., the use of "cartoucés", carved stellae and the stories carved on them.
Thanks
Bill

What do you think of this theory
http://nabataea.net/edomch1.html
This document sets forth the theory that the Edomites were the ancient Hyksos who invaded Egypt.

the hyksos were not 'arab' -- they were most likely semitic people -- related to the israelites, arabs, syrians, babylonians etc.
