Fifty years ago tonight after a nine-month gestation I was decanted from my mother's womb. I very nearly didn't survive. When I came out I wasn't breathing or moving at all. It was twelve minutes before inhalation was finally induced. Some have wondered if I've been brain damaged because of that. I don't know. But here I am fifty years later, feeling better than when I turned thirty. God has brought me far, past a lot of dark times and pain. But I'm in a place where I'm truly thankful and looking forward to where the next fifty years take me.
Anyway, here's the essay I wrote for my blog today.
I've had my blog for twenty years now. Took a break for Lent, knowing that this Easter would be something wonderful to return during. All that would make this day completely perfect is for North Carolina State to win today :-)
On that note, Happy Easter. He is risen!
Happy Birfday!
Happy 50th! You’re only as old as you feel, so try to feel young as often as possible.
Happy birthday to you.
Adorable baby picture. Are you still that cute?.
...which means you will find an AARP mailer on your doorstep, even though you never had any contact with or from them ever. How do they do it? I wrote them and asked that very question. Unsurprisingly, I got no answer.
I keep thinking either that the bottom has to be here somewhere or that they have left me off! The latter is a sinking feeling.
He Is Risen Indeed!
and
Happy Birthday Kiddo.
Happy B-day! Great age (I am around the same.) The vanity and foolishness of youth is past, but still not feeble in any significant way.
Who do I have to screw to be 50 again?
(70 in August, God willing)
“The wife.”
In my opinion, this is a very impersonal and disrespectful way to refer to the person who has been your partner in life for 64 years.
happy twofer birthday, you young whipper-snapper. may God grant you many more!
What?
Do you know his wife?
There is nothing disrespectful to refer to “the wife” on an impersonal forum.
Surely there are better things to worry about?
Hope you are just having a bad day and tomorrow is better for you.
Sounds like you and wife ate a lot of microwave popcorn.
Today — I am spending with my wonderful wife of 38 years.
Nice!
Hope you have a great day!
Congrats on 38 years, me and (reference to wife here) will celebrate our 32nd this June!
May you and yours have many more wonderful years together!
