There are some big corporation donors housed in Oakland (Clorox, Kaiser Permanente etc.) and when they begin to squawk, the democrats are not going to allow some ideologically motivated county D.A. to FUBAR the relationships. The California Highway Patrol’s unwritten motto is “all roads, all codes.” And the move effectively pushes aside the Federal monitor, who’s actually had oversight of Oakland Police operations for almost two decades. It’s a petty-dictator move on Newsome’s part but Oakland crime victims are not gonna complain!
